Hi,

I wanted some feedback on receiving impartation. Specifically, some people say that a special anointing is received this way, and that travelling halfway round the world to be prayed over by an anointed minister, or visiting a place of revival, made a powerful impact to their spiritual life.

Is this true, do I need to do this, or can i receive the exact same anointing by faith, at home, by myself ?

thanks

Save your money and buy food and pay some overdue bills for some poor brother in your church with it instead.

Lol...I agree with the sentiments expressed here.

Many Christians run after so called anointed ministries and seek impartation as if it will kick-start their lives or give their faith an added dimension.

I have seen people develop an unhealthy fascination for apparent supernatural manifestations, such as gold dust, gold fillings, glory clouds, manna, and angel feathers...many of which have been exposed as sleight of hand, or auto-suggestion. I was watching a well known pastor getting covered in gold as he spoke, but I believe he concealed gold coloured particles in his handkerchief so when he mopped his sweating brow it appeared...I think he also had some under his wig!

I believe there are impartations to be had, in the same way as Paul ministered to others and specifically to Timothy......but they are not a short-cut for developing faith and building character.

Think about it...only the wealthy Christians can jump on a plane and jet off across the world to catch hold of these blessings...then supposedly bring them back and bless their own communities with it...at least that is the mechanics/justification behind it.

My experience is that there are more likely to be people in your own community that can impact your life far more effectively and lastingly than a quick fix at the feet of some high-profile ministry....there is something a little nauseous watching people rush off to these events, and the Todd Bentley farce should have been enough to warn people off.

I don't know about receiving, special gifts by searching for them from a man.

A visit to a conference, revival,or event would be a good thing to do.
Fellowship is important for Christians, also new places to witness and help others.

I think If you never venture out you will miss blessings.
If you are in a spirit filled environment, your faith will strengthen and you will come back recharged.

I have gone to many business conventions, each time coming back with fresh ideas and putting them to work.
I should have been going to camp meetings and revivals as well.

Remember, you will never have what you speak against, nor will God write your blessing in the sky.

You have a Saviour...he is the only way. You don't need to fly somewhere and have some special person impart anything to you. They are no different than you are! Christ died for YOU. You need to go to him, read the Gospels...download some of Kenneth Hagens books and read them. He spells out the Gospel in a very easy down to earth fashion.

Some of the best 'impartation' I ever received was from Kenneth Copeland's "Honor that Comes From God" Series. I listened to that series non stop during the hour drive to and from work every day for almost three years. I never have seen Kenneth Copeland in person but once, and that was in a lobby and we never talked in person. But let me tell you, there are some things from that time in the car that God imparted to me that are as much a part of me today as they were 20 years ago.

I said all that to make the point that impartation can come by ways other than traveling to a certain place and having a person pray over you. Truth be told, you can have an impartation granted to you either way. Travel OR stay at home. God is God everywhere!

The real question is, what is GOD telling you to do? Is HE telling you to go? Is He telling you that you need to take a trip? Keep praying and seeking the Lord about it.

Well maybe I am missing the point on the reasoning for travel.
I do the same thing as Jedi,i listen to sermons while traveling.

To impart or receive special anointing from a Preacher can happen as the Holy Spirit wills.

If you watch Kenneth Hagin senior,in Holy Spirit meetings in the past,a lot happened.

What if the great awakening never happened?
What about AZUSA street?

I'm not saying travel every where to receive something you think you will get spiritually,I am saying if one of my favorite Preachers are in my State I want to try to make it.

Its the still small voice that brings us to be where God wants us to be.

1. Before receiving an impartation of spiritual gifts, the Lord prepares us by His word. Yield to Him. He will teach on many aspects like: i) the purpose of spiritual gifts, ii) how it ought to be used and when (Matthew 7: 21, 22).

2. Sometimes people receive impartation when they first desire to see the Lord. The Lord appears and grants them spiritual gifts. Seek to see Him and need Him over spiritual gifts. This is the better way. Once a person sees the Lord face to face, gifts start to manifest through him.

"I wanted some feedback on receiving impartation."

What "Impartation" do you think you need, and WHY????

Have you placed yourself in the position, and are you involved in places where you have to GIVE Ministry to others.

Are you a RIVER OF LIFE that flows out into other people's lives, or are you a "Dead Sea" with no ministerial outlets, and consequently not in NEED of any impartation???

I do not think the word is clear on the intent of the thread.

Impart means to give information, and is not empowerment.

The threads intent was a question,do we need to travel and follow a minister to receive a empowerment,or special anointing.

No we seek gifts by faith.

We do not possess the gifts ourselves, they are all from the same Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit manifest the power or the anointing of a gift when he chooses to,not by our telling him it time to turn on.

Granted there are some people who certain gifts be manifest are common place.

I believe that their faith brings the power, and some are gifted in multiple areas, but they differ in manifestation depending on the measure of faith.

So Bob yes you have to be on the front line, not a Sunday bench warmer.

Discernment when the Spirit urges you to go or say.

There was a conservative minister on a mission people were being saved the Holy Spirit was moving.

He had a daughter with a crippling disease,at a moment he was urged to say be healed in Jesus name, and he knew it would happen no doubt.

He did not do it,I guess through being taught God doesn't heal that way kept him silent.

He never felt a anointing like that again,he regretted that day for the rest of his life.

We have to use our faith,to whomever much is given, much is required.

So to me if I know in my heart to go I go,we know the Spirit and we know we are being called.

I don't care if its another state,or to turn the truck around and witness to someone hurting.

Paul does talk to Timothy about the gift he received by the laying on of hands...

Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 1 Tim 4:14

can I get that by staying at home? Surely not. I need some anointed hands on me, no?

You can have all the hands laid on you that can be found, but you must receive the baptism by faith.

Acts 19:2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 19:3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

I know a young man who was struggling,in his marriage.

He went to a Church that did not teach the Baptism,he spent much time in prayer lamenting.

As he was walking down a hall,he was engulfed in the Holy Spirit.

His description of the event was astounding considering he was never taught you could even have this happen.

He also began to pray in tongues,a gift that had been taught against as well.

I suppose when this happened he simply was caught up and could not refute this in his mind.

Seek and you will find God anywhere, draw near him and he will draw to you.

God is in your home your heart, but your mind will wonder,so pray and then listen you may not have a mighty experience spiritually, but you may slowly move into the manifestation of the Holy Spirit.

By the laying on of hands?

I have been a bit confused on this thread, can you tell me what you would have imparted to you?

nowfaith, I am seeking advice from those who have experienced something, an impartation, as spoken by Paul to Timothy. I want to learn from the experienced.

I'm not really debating whether it should happen, or the English dictionary definitions.

My mistake, hope you will find your Answers and your mentoring.

God bless
