Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
1 Timothy 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
1 Timothy 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
2 Timothy 3:10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine...
True unity is NOT achieved by overlooking bad doctrine for the sake of "getting along" or "not offending anyone" or "agreeing to disagree" rather it is achieved by being united by our beliefs in what the Word of God teaches on the essentials of the faith !
Of the many groups listed, i could not in good conscience fellowship with them for light has nothing in common with darkness, truth with error, Christ with Belial. If a group denies an essential doctrine of the faith, can they Biblically be termed a believer ??
For instance, a Oneness Pentecostal will wholeheartedly agree that Jesus Christ is God YET deny the plain, inferred teaching of Scripture that God is a Triune Being not to mention that their beliefs on the nature of Christ are totally illogical and unscriptural contrary to orthodoxy (Christ speaks as Deity sometimes and others as a man only). Others cults deny not only the Trinity but the Deity of Christ even though they hold to the essential doctrine that the Word of God is the ultimate rule of faith (JW's, Christadelphians, The Way International, etc.) The Catholics hold to many of the essential doctrines of Christianity yet deny the supremacy of Scripture and though they believe in the Trinity and the Deity of Christ, they elevate other's such as the Pope/Mary to demi-god status - attributing to these specific persons attributes which blaspheme God (Pope=Vicar of Christ//Mary=Co-Redeemer) not to mention that they believe in salvation by faith & works, etc., etc., etc. Please don't accuse me of hatemongering - i am not hateful of any group
