The main thing I wish that more RTS games would do is at least ALLOW slower players to, for instance, set the single-player game to allow giving orders while paused. I simply haven't got the reflexes to handle most RTS games.

Does any one know when LOTR: battle for middle earth is comming out? i think that it is in October, is that true?

EB lists the game "in store" on 15-November-04. But it could always change and EA pushes it back to '05 to compete with the newer titles released early in the year.

Kinda. It also has bombing runs and double domination.

More like Unreal Tournament as an RTS.
really? Sweet! I'm kinda surprised that there aren't more of those types of games out there!

I don't know if it's been mentioned but Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns is a nice game with some neat concepts. I like not having to micromanage individual units to replace those lost in battle. So long as one unit from a company survives, the entire company will be reconstituted over time while the company rests in a supply zone. I recently got a Loki port of the game for Linux and have really been enjoying it.

I'm more of a fan of RTS that deal in a more historic sense.

For some reason the games just get ruined for me when you start to bring in nuclear bombs and airplanes. It just causes the game to end so suddenly once you get to a modern or futuristic age.

But when you have archers, cannons, catapults, spearmen, etc... I just find that it enhances the level of stragety required.
