  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Not sure if i asked this already but...

How has life treated you so far?

I answered ur question on the other page ... and said that my 20's were rougher than the years past I wasn't sure why. They are 'supposed' to be the happiest years of your life. Then I went to read my daily devotion and was delicately shown what matters most anyhow. I hope it blesses whomever reads it :)

"A good deal of our unhappiness as we grow older is caused by our pining for the “good old days”—those times when we enjoyed health, wealth, position, or power. But the things of this world don’t last. They are vacillating, changeable, capricious. In time, they may be taken away from us and replaced with poverty, isolation, weakness, and pain.

When we realize that this world and everything in it is unstable and unpredictable, we are left longing for something that lasts. What is left?

The psalmist wrote, “[God’s] righteousness endures forever” (112:9). It is untouched and unharmed by time and circumstances. Nothing that happens in this world can take it away. It endures when life has stripped us of every other possession.

This righteousness is ours as we draw near to God through faith in Jesus Christ (see Rom. 1:17; 3:21-26). He is our rock and our salvation and the only source of true and lasting happiness. Psalm 112:1 says, “Blessed [happy] is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments.”

Delight in the Lord and in His Word, and you’ll find true happiness. He alone offers a righteousness that endures for all eternity.[wash my mouth]—David H. Roper

I love Your truth, O Lord,
The Word which You have given;
Its precepts shall my soul delight
On earth as well as heaven.[wash my mouth] —Bosch

Happiness is ours when we delight in the Lord."

No I don't think ya did, but that would be okay neway :)

Life has treated me fine. I have to remember all that I have. Many experiences, good and bad, but don't regret one single thing really. It's shaped me into who I am. My twenties on the other hand...they have been a bit rougher than most years. Which is odd, it's 'supposed' to be the best times of your life. But that is okay too, because I know in years to come I will understand why.

haha my twenties suck too... Gotta make due though. i guess...

Oh! they don't suck. I don't mean that...it's just they are packed full with so much more weight than back in the day. I do kind of wish I had the same oblivious outlook though that I did before college and even in college. It's just getting used to your responsibilities, all of your closest friends moving in diff directions, family issues, future issues...not being where you thought you would be and working through that...to be happy with where you are.

There are many things I enjoyed and still do in my 20's.

do you have silblings?
Yes, a sister. She is 33.
if so, what is different in your relationship today when you look back on your childhood?

That's a toughy, but I thank you for asking it...I will come back to this soon. My sister is mentally retarded and our relationship has changed so much. Soooo much. Role reversals in the middle of our lives was really tough. I'll be back :)

what do you miss when you think back of your time living with roomies?
I miss the silliness. I really do. I miss the girls annoying the heck out of me by jumping in my bed singing songs in the middle of the night. I miss being there for one another. I miss making breakfast with them. I miss movie nights. I miss getting ready in the morning and helping eachother get started.

Thank you! I got them from my Secret Santa. I love them! :D

I LOVE Amelie, but I've only seen it once. I could definitely see it over and over again. And I've never had a pomegranate, so I guess I'll have to try it (although I get pomegranate scented candles and I love them!).

Does your Christmas tree have an angel or a star on top?

Do you have any special dishes that you make (or like to eat!) for Christmas dinner?

I suggest looking up how to open a pom...it's really messy if not done right...I learned :) The little arils (sp?) look like little rubbies and taste like a cross btw cranberries n grapes.

My christmas tree has one ornament on it at the moment. I am making my ornaments this year. I don't think I will have anything at the top of the tree.

I really want to get poms into some dishes. Just looks so festive. I love anything with spinach in it and phyllo dough. I also love spending a day making my dog biscuits from scratch. I fed one to a friend once and he tht it was a cookie...lol..so mean...but hilarious!

do you like to cook?

I love to cook! I kind of have a problem with quantity (I grew up cooking for a family of 6, and now I live alone) so I always have a lot of leftovers, lol.

Have you ever been on a cruise?

Wow! You did most of the cooking? Talk about prep :) I know, I have leftovers too...it's so hard cooking for one! We have to cut all the recipes into quarters.

No, I have never been on a cruise. I will for the experience, but I don't think I will liek the time constraints in destination stops. One I wouldn't think twice about and would definitely go given teh chance - a cruise around alaska! That would be a dream. :)

I have started shopping..but still have a lot to go. I swore it wouldn't happen this year...i was planning to be done it all by dec 1st..decorating too. urghh..another xmas to pass me by. jk.

Before xmas, I have to get myself to Longwood Gardens for the xmas displays. It's tradition too. I spend xmas with my immediate family. I sleep under the tree the night before...it's tradition. :) I love christmas morning. Christmas coffee...opening gifts after my sister has calmed down enough to begin (she gets super excited and pukes every year LOL! )...and then off to church with my holiday date (mom). Then the rest of the day is for movies, listening to music and actually reading directions to the one thing I get.

New Years I spend with really close friends at their house. My best friend's hubby's culture celebrates xmas on the new year...it's their huge celebration. Sometimes traveling is fun too.

I know it's rough having the real world hit you like a ton of bricks, but you'll get used to it. We'll see the silver lining later in everything!

Oh God...this is the one question I feared. All I can say, despite current affairs, we are SOOOOOO very very blessed. Other than that...I have to Plead the 5th on this one. Sorry. :sorry:

1. No, I don't hate the govt. I just don't know enough to comment that is all. I said a while back that one of my new years resolutions was to cut out complacency...or my 'lack of concern' or my failure to act...and govt issues or deep knowledge of the govt is where I am most complacent.

2. Good question! For fun? A cottage in mountains..ski in, ski out. :) In all seriousness: My mother's complete healing. Thru and thru.
Why hasn't this happened yet? I still have some things that have been granted to me out of shhhheeeerrrr grace (free of debt..or a paycheck away) that I have not responded to as I should have. It was a TOTAL God thing. I hooted and hollared and gave him the glory, but in the end..i never followed through. It's disgusting. It's like slapping God in the face.

Things would move a lot quicker if we just obeyed. I need to get it thru my head!
