This could prove to be a problem for you. If we look at the Greek text that undergirds the KJV, it was produced by Erasmus who was a humanist Roman Catholic theologian. As for the translation committee of the King James Version, poor old King James was a known homosexual and as for the translation committee, of which we seem to know very little about, I think that we could be thankful if even a single member was born again. Remember, we are talking about churchmen who lived within the very tumultuous late 1500s to early 1600s and they knew that if they crossed the king that it would amount to "off with their heads"; I hardly think that we would find too many amongst their midst who we would deem to be Evangelical.Of course, it's a very complex issue, I was just simplifying it. I believe the Byzantine textual line is the most reliable. Metzger while very knowledgeable was also a flaming liberal. At least not to the extent of Westcott and Hort though.
As for the very late Byzantine text type, this eclectic text was in such a poor state that Erasmus could not even find a copy that had the last six verses of the Book of Revelation, he had to make it up from the Latin text.
