I have been struck lately with a number of things that I don't have the answers for. But one thing that I keep coming back to is the alignment of the feasts throughout the yearly cycle.
It is clear that the passover has at least two fulfillments--Jesus dying as the passover Lamb, and then the final delieverance of the people--Jesus says that He will eat it anew in the kingdom with us.
As I have been looking at the day of atonement imagery for some time now. But I can't reconcile a fulfillment at the ascension with the yearly arrangement.
I certainly think that the author of Hebrews shows the temple services--all of them, not just the Day of Atonement--but the daily, yearly, inaugural, red heifer ,etc. were all wrapped up at the ascension. That is to say Jesus paid the price and ministered His blood. But I am not sure that rules out a fulfillment of the feasts, and particularly the day of atonement at the end.
Perhaps this is another turn in my thinking, back towards something closer to the traditional view.
In reading the Daniel and Revelation Committee reports I do see some evidence for their argument--though it is not in all ways quite the traditional view that they take.
Anyway, I just want to thank you all, especially Adventtruth, Onthe DL, Jon0388g etc. for being willing to talk things through, and for your prayers. I know you did not always agree with me, but it is good to have a strong presentation of both sides.
Perhaps at this point I am simply realizing that I don't have all the answers, but my new answers don't resolve things any better than my old ones. So why rush into something that I may regret.
I also apologize if I have been too direct lately or too harsh. I don't mean to be critical. I am really wanting to make sense of this all. I am going to continue studying this out, but not commenting as much here, as I think I may have run ahead to conclusions I had not studied through completely. And when I post back and forth on a topic it tends to have a polarizing effect.
