^ Smacks of Christian Cliches to me. I have never heard of the kingdom of yourself, but it sounds like something one's pastor would talk about.
Do you believe in breast reduction surgery, as #59 mentioned?
Or, on another note, would you ever consider getting your adenoids out if they caused you to snore? Ha! I bet yot answer would be different because that is not sexual.
But snoring is not generally more than an aesthetic inconvenience.........

My time scheduled has open a bit more, so let me add just a couple more points. However, I am not sure if my schedule will allow me to have endless debate. So, if there are long durations between my responses, you will know why.
First, I am quite certain dollface meant to say building the kingdom of heaven or yourself rather than the kingdom of yourself. Certainly you could have figured this out. Dollface brings up a solid point breast implants are self focused and the Savior has taught us to loose ourselves and serve others. I think that is her point has merit.
In my mind, breast reductions are in the same league as breast implants. If either one is related to health issues or reconstructive (restoring functioning from accident, illness or abnormality) it is fine. For example, a woman getting reductions because she is having serious back problems is a health issue and she would need medical support. This is where cosmetic surgery is helpful. A woman getting reductions so that her figure aligns to a Barbie-doll image is vain and no solid Christian should pick a worldly view over the Saviors teachings.
Personally, when I see women with breast implants I see the word bimbo written across their foreheads. Not only is it contrary to Christs teachings (lovers of self), but it also communicates that such women have identified with a pathetic male and societal sickness to judge female worth via breast size. Its bimboish!

Well this thread is 7 pages is long now so I'm sure you've heard all the reasons as to why or why not a breast aumentation is ok.
I just want to say that make sure you know why your getting into.
I've heard woman who have it done saying that men treat them very differently and it's not just a little extra attention. Apparenlty they can become the topic of every conversation you have with a man, I've heard about complete strangers asking a woman if he can touch them :O

I haven't read much of this thread...I just don't have time to read through it all. I will say some of the posts I've seen are pretty uninformed & rather judgemental so don't let some of the naysayers get to you.
that being said, I got implants back in 02. it was before I was a Christian but I've never for a single second regretted it. nor, has the Lord ever convicted me for having done it, even though it was before I was a Christian. it made a 100% difference in the way I felt about my body and being a woman.
I'd just say it's an issue of the heart. examine your reasons for doing...if it's to please someone else or attract men, obviously those are wrong reasons. there is no reason I can think of to get large implants. you can get b-c sized implants and no one will ever know nor will they attract anymore attention than the natural breasts of other women. most people have no idea I even have implants until I tell them.
go with a recommended surgeon & ask to see Before & after photos of their work. make sure the surgeon is accredited with the plastic surgery association of drs.
saline only, stay away from silicone. I think most surgeons today only use saline so that probably wouldn't be an issue.
go under the muscle, not over. again, I think most surgeons won't even consider going over the muscle nowadays so I think isn't much of an issue either.
pray over it & don't do it if you feel the Lord is leading you away from it.

since the original poster seemed to be interested in this surgery, I thought my personal experience could offer some insight. I won't make the mistake of being that self-absorbed again.
re: your bigness thread. interesting read, but as I previously stated-- "fake" does not automatically equate with "big."
re: your against breast implants thread. not so interesting, as I've heard it all before.
to be quite honest with you, my breast augmentation decision seems to be a hot-button issue for you and it's a total non-issue for me so I don't know how much good it'll do us to go round & round over it.
rather than get involved in those other threads (because frankly I can't muster up the interest) I'll just say what I have to say here in this one...
don't like breast implants? then don't get 'em. that's the only thing I really know to tell you.

So many areas of life are grey and not black and white like so many would prefer. We don't know the heart of another and shouldn't sit back and judge the reasons a person does something. We can't say because you have implants you're self absorbed or whatever term that was used. Each person has to account to God for his own actions and only God knows a persons heart. Having said all that to say this....if you've prayed about implants and you feel God is not against it then, go for it....and if it's not right for you, then don't. But don't judge me for my decisions. You haven't walked in my shoes.

Well, we are all made in God's image. That tells us all something there.
Plus, 1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV) says: "But the LORD said to Samuel, 'Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
Therefore, why go spend a bunch of money "improving" something when God isn't focusing on your outward appearance? That money can be spent elsewhere, for better results. Whatever God says is important, we also need to believe it's important. We are followers of Christ Jesus. His will should be our will. What's important to Him should be important to us.

Breast implants dont last forever anyway. I heard after a while you either have to take out or get new ones. Scar tissure builds up around them. It just sounds horrible. So many models/movies stars have very small breasts and are beautiful. Mine sag now after a few kids but oh well LOL!!!

I think that you if you want them for you and noone else than that is your decision but please consider you were made this way for a reason. Research up and know your stuff before hand. And be sure to find a doctor that knows what he's doing.
