Ray Epps' Jan. 6 Sentence Enrages MAGA

Jan 09, 2024

Ray Epps was sentenced on Tuesday to one year of probation for his role in the January 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol in 2021, prompting widespread criticism on social media from conservatives and supporters of the MAGA movement.

Donald Trump Jr. wrote: "Ray Epps gets probation, a $500 fine and is able to phone into his sentencing?!? Are you fricken kidding me? Yea guys, he totally wasn't put there to incite things by the feds. Our country is screwed... the traitors in charge aren't even pretending anymore."

"BREAKING: Ray Epps sentenced to 1 year probation, $500 fine after telling J6ers 'we need to go into the Capitol' Why did Epps text his nephew 'I orchestrated it'? Why was Epps on the FBI's most wanted list and then suddenly removed? Why did the New York Times write a puff piece on Epps? Why is Epps receiving such a kid gloves treatment?" conservative commentator and founder of Turning Point USA Charlie Kirk wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Kentucky Republican Representative Thomas Massie also responded to the sentencing and said, "Ray Epps, the man who directed people to go into the Capitol and privately claimed credit for orchestrating the Capitol breach, gets one year probation. Nothing to see here!"

This is very odd. Why are Republicans and conservatives frustrated at this. This makes no sense at all. I thought conservatives and Republicans were more for letting many of the J6ers off the hook? There have been folks who have received ridiculously harsh sentences. Whereas this guy gets a very light sentence. Which in my mind is what most of the people should be getting. I don't know, maybe they are and it's just not publicized.

It's my opinion that Ray Epps was a Fed planted asset, the very reason he received no prison sentence, while being a "major figure" in the Jan 6th event inciting attendees to storm the capitol

"Question To FBI Christopher Wray, Regarding Federal assets on Jan 6th without a response?

Were DOJ assets present on Jan 6th at the capitol event Yes/No?

There's a reason why FBI director Christopher Wray wouldn't answer the question asked by congress above

Your opinion was wrong.
the very reason he received no prison sentence,
He received no prison because he was one of the very few who never entered or committed violence who was charged. The judge took some pity on him as well because he is continuously harrassed by people who, like you, have been stirred up by media agitators.
while being a "major figure" in the Jan 6th event inciting attendees to storm the capitol
He was not a "major figure", much closer to a nobody.

That reason is that law enforcement agencies don't publicly discuss "assets" who are in contact with criminals and providing information for obvious reasons.

For telling the truth about many things the left and world doesn't want to hear

So close, but backwards. You see he was fired by the top exectutives at Fox (NewsCorp, aka, Rupert Murdock and spawn) They are not leftists. And why, well it was for telling so many repeated lies that they got sued and settled (seriously, the settled for this much) for 3/4 billion dollars. Even Rupert thinks that is too much. So the correct answer is:\

For telling lies that lead to a giant settlement costing the company huge amounts of money.

At no time did Tucker lie, Rupert payed out at his own will without a court hearing or trial

Rupert is in it for the $money$ not reporting truth in journalism, Tucker Carlson rocked the world boat with "Truth" and this isn't profitable in many instances

PolitiFact fact-checking on Tucker Carlson. Lots of "false" and "mostly false", quite a few "pants on fire."

Note, this part: "Capitol Police officers “helped” [...] Shaman Jacob Chansley and “acted as his tour guides" is labeled as "Pants on fire."

But continue to drink the Kool-Aid, if you prefer....just don't worry about the aftertaste.

-- A2SG, out of hand denial of PolitiFact as a "reliable source" (with absolutely no evidence to disprove their conclusions) coming in three, two....

The armed police did escourt Chansley through the building, all the way to the Senate chambers, and they hung out for the prayer meeting

It's my opinion you are drinking the kool-aid, following and promoting false narratives blindly

Read the PolitiFact report, it details the lies told by Carlson.

Oh? Funny that Fox News in previous lawsuits has argued that no reasonable person would believe what Tucker says to be fact, instead of hyperbole. The following is quote from the Judge agreeing with Fox News lawyers.

"given Mr. Carlson's reputation, any reasonable viewer 'arrive with an appropriate amount of skepticism' about the statements he makes."
