3/10 sorry, not my thing at all. Not to mention the singer unfortunately reminds me of the youtube twerp, Fred.

It's all good. I didn't know this Fred that you mentioned, but I believe I found him when I saw a video of a kid named Fred Figglehorn who had an incredibly annoying voice that almost made my ears bleed

I'll give your song a 7/10 - I really like the instrumental intro to the track.

8/10 - Pretty epic... I loved the intro

Blackguard ~ I second what Skavau said about the vids I posted... The Chariot aren't traditional metal. As far as a generic genre, I'd say hardcore best describes them, but really they're just controlled chaos. It's just what they do. They're one of the most amazing bands to see live, it really helps you appreciate the style they play. Singing just wouldn't work with their style of music.

6.5/10 Didn't like it at first, but it grew on me.

I thought it was missing the heavy drumming of most metal I've heard, but thought that sort of screamy vocals was just a metal thing.

I don't know what "hardcore" is, so "controlled chaos" will have to do.

Anyway,

Yeah, the drumming is more along the lines of what you'd hear in a punk song in a lot of The Chariot songs, imo. As far as screamy vocals go, it's definitely been a trend in the teen music scene, at least where I live. It really doesn't matter what kind of music it is, a band will do whatever they can to make screaming fit. For example, there's a band I like called Breathe Carolina, which is basically a 2-person Electronica band, but one of the guys screams pretty much all his vocals... It's interesting to see how far bands will go to fit the current trends in their music.

Hardcore basically evolved from punk... It sped up the music and vocals of early punk songs. There are a lot of sub-genres of hardcore. I guess The Chariot could be filed under metalcore, since they do use some aspects of metal... It's really difficult these days to limit a band to one genre though.

7/10 for your song - It kinda reminded me of The Beatles. I liked it.

I agree... I given up grouping even types of metal into their categories cause everyone seems to have a different opinion. There's what I like... and what I don't... don't care what the genre is. Although I think I can safely say most bands I like fall somewhere in the power/melodic metal area or have aspects of those in there somewhere.
