• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hi all, I've been trying to slim down ever since I got out of my recent relationship and I see myself as fat and very dissatisfied with my weight. The problem is for years I've rarely ate prety much just nibble here and there but other than that nothing. I have had a few problems over the past where i black out and go into convolutions cant really say seizures cause I don't have epilepsy. But I currently have a job at Valero and I'm nervous about the same thing happening again, but how can I eat when I have no appetite whatsoever?

Hi,

have you tried forcing yourself to eat even though you don't have an appetite? You could try to eat three times a day, always at the same time. Maybe this could help you. It's important that you try to eat healthy, so that you get your vitamins and minerals. Also I think you should definitely see a doctor about this problem.

Best wishes to you.

Hey mtlhusky...

You have to choose to make the decision yourself. It really seems like you care about yourself so have confidence that you can use the discipline provided to you to make the decision.

Goals are important. You can start by resolving to fulfill the entire food pyramid (for your bodily specifications) everyday...or perhaps a goal that is smaller than that.

You can do it.
