I pick neither...Metal all the way ;) specifically Power Metal, and Symphonic Metal :)
Yeah Power metal and symphonic metal are awesome indeed. Especially nightwish, oh can she ever wale. Love that opera mix in with metal. Also gotta love the classic heavy metal bands too though. You should listen to some Iron Maiden when you get the chance. They play about some very serious topics. One of the songs of theirs that rings a bell Is from their latest album called "For The Greater Good Of God". Great song. The lead singer Bruce Dickinson Is also operatically trained so he can hit those high notes and yet still keep his vocals under control. Also he has a very large range. Awesome band.

Hey. First post on these forums. I just released a rap album through my own little label - The album's called 'Days of Plague & Vice'....and has obviously Christian connotations, though I'm not of any faith. I thought I'd post a lyric from the title track though...I see rap as a combination of various elements: Poetry, music, spoken word....all of which can embody a massive range of ideas, concepts, feelings, every span of human culture - so when rap is employed as a vehicle for thought and ideas, I think it can become profoundly meaningful. Unfortunately at the most basic, a rap record only needs a beat, and a monotonous set of lyrics over the top to qualify it as a recognizable form of music, and is abused as a result. You end up with the huge weight of awful, destructive music you'll hear on commercial rap and music media channels around the world.

Anyway - I think it's possible to make it meaningful and filled with imagery and thoughts - well, that's what I'm trying to do anyway.

"Tempests wrack the Heavens in terrible waves,
'Til benevolent Seraphim's rage and the devil is raised,
Like pennants that penniless revelers wave,
The citizens of this city are sick, dying like lepars but yelling 'We're saved!'."

R-O-C-K in the USA! Actually I like classic rock, punk, grunge, metal, blues, jazz, folk, but very very little rap. Though I've been a Christian most of my life I didn't like very much contemporary Christian music until recently. I'm 41, so when I was a teen it was Stryper, Petra, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, and a handful of others. Now there's so many Christian bands out there, there's gotta be something for everyone!

The only rap I've ever enjoyed is PM Dawn, Arrested Development, and a little Beastie Boys and Run DMC.
