"made effective to one through faith in him" (Eph 2:8-9).Obviously not.
Eph 2:8-9 - "It is by grace you have been saved, through faith---and this not from yourselves, it is a gift of God----not by works, so that no one can boast."That expression is foreign to me.
No faith in Christ = no salvation from God's wrath at the Judgment.
It makes it applicable to you, which it is not without faith (Jn 3:18).My faith doesn't make Christ's atonement effective;
No, the rest of the NT cannot be shut out.Christ suffered and died, the just for the unjust. That happened. Period. Full Stop.
NT Scripture is correctly understood only in the light of all NT Scripture.
Jesus disagrees. . .Jn 3:18.Faith receives the already efficacious and finished work. The Cross stands where it stands, the One who bled and died for every single sinner, without exception.
"Whoever believes in me is not condemned, but whoever does not believe in me is condemned already."
God does nothing in vain, particularly the death of his Son, which accomplishes all that it was done for.
