  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So what is it with you and owls??

Haha. Nothing really. I watched a documentary on snowy owls a couple months ago and thought they were really cool, beautiful birds. Then there was something in the news saying that an unusually high amount of them have been migrating down to the US this winter. I think it would be so cool to see one, so I started researching them a little. I'm an animal lover in general though. If I could go back in time I might have based my career on wildlife.

I had a job as a zoo-keeper at one point in life, but I didn't make the most use out of it as I could have. (I was lost and doing my own thing) I have some nice memories with working with the animals though. Good times!

I thought about volunteering at a zoo last summer. I should so do it.
They had people volunteer at the zoo I worked at, and a coiple of them ended up getting jobs there. Volunteering is just a way good way to build a resume. A couple years ago I started helping out at my (now) good friend's thrift store, and he and his wife ended up hiring me on to work for them. I still lend them a hand pretty regularly, and I would still be employed there if it wasn't for the fact it doesn't pay enough to afford bills. There's never a dull day at Second Blessings.
