  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've got a story like that. I was involved in an auto accident and the officer had everyone's liscence's and when it was time to leave I asked him for mine back (I SAW him put it in his shirt pocket). He said he had given it back to me and I told him it was in his pocket and he would not check, just repeating that he had given it to me. Can you believe he NEVER called when he found it? I was not encouraged.

No idea what made me think of this random thought but one fine day I was driving my catering truck through Strongsville and was on a downhill street which was covered in ice. I "pumped the brakes" but no dice-NO way to brake. I had a choice. I could continue to skid into heavy traffic through a red light or go off the road and hope to be stopped by some of the rocks on a tree lawn. I chose the tree lawn. So did a UPS driver who rear ended me as well as another truck who rear ended the UPS truck. Police showed up and could not laugh at us hard enough (VERY professional). I offered my insurance card and it was REFUSED! The cop wrote down "insurance not shown". I paid for his mistake for the next four years, including having my lisense suspended, paying $125 in fines, "failing" a police civil serice exam for having "too many points on my lisense) and a few other things... Good job, Strongsville's "finest".

Since I haven't figgured out how you start a thread I thought I'd put this here because it's random.

I came accross this in another thread but I couldn't reply there because it was for under 21 y.o's

James 5:16

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Its funny how God moves! Yesterday it was inpressed on me to not only confess all my sins to God but also to someone who I could be accountable to (the "eachother" part). Also, yesterday I rocked up to a meeting that my friend was holding which wasn't related to this topic but during the course of the evening he said that he felt that God was impressing on him that we need to pay closer attention to James 5:16 (above). Then last night I prayed for about 2 hours, trying to remember everything I've done wrong and confessing it all to God. I'm a fairly shy/closed person compared to my friend and while he confesses every sin detail to God and to me he has ever done, I find myself holding back. After I prayed last night I strongly felt that God wanted me to be totally open and accountable to someone and that we should regularly meet to do this and pray for each other. So I resolved to do that. I was even looking forward to calling my friend to organise a time to get togeather. But then I woke up and didn't feel as compelled to do this as I did the day before. Then today, I am haveing a break from writing my essay so I come online. And what do I see? This thread conscerning James 5:16!!!

All I can say is, 'Ok Lord, I get the message and thanks for the conformation!'

He moves in mysterious ways

Yes, but they are tres funky and deeply solid ways... which may explain why mysteries are such a popilar genre of writing.

Also, how solid is it when you know that the end result is amazing, and you still get confused by the plot?

Picture released by the U.S. Army shows a dust storm across the western desert of Iraq on Tuesday April 26, 2005. The storm spawned near the border of Syria and Jordan, leaving a heavy sheet of dust in its wake.
