Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.
I've seen this thread in other forums, so I thought we could have one here. It's just a place for chit-chat, random thoughts, and whatever else pops into your mind.

Do any of you find yourselves tempted to lie about holiday plans so people won't feel sorry for you?
Around the 4th of july a few years ago I had decided to rent some movies, buy some bar-b-que, from my favorite resturant, and get some much needed rest. Someone asked me what I was doing and I could tell by the look on her face, that she felt sorry for me. That really bothered me so now I avoid the question, unless it's someone I would like to spend the holidays with.
I'll say something like "I'm weighing my options".
Sounds like a good plan. Some of my best holidays were actually spent with myself. I am fortunate to have family close now, so going over to my brother's. He's also my pastor, it's very nice, although most of the kids are now gone. Hoping my daughter makes it home, depends on whether she can find a ride.I got that just this Monday. A friend of mine asked what I was doing and when I told him I was just going to watch some football and maybe go for a bike ride I could see it all over his face. I changed the subject pretty quick because it seemed like he was about to invite me over to his house with his family. While I would have apprecited the gesture, I would rather just stick to my plan
