  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Random fact...

I absolutely cannot get anything done unless I have shoes on...even shoes without a back make it difficult for me. I don't like walking without something on my feet because I can't stand the sensation of the floor/ground.

I am exactly the same way about shoes, Tins. I also like all your movies.

My favorite movie is Groundhog Day.

Other random fact: I'm currently saving my pennies to purchase a retro-gaming console which will play NES and Super NES games. For the time being every time I see an NES or Super NES game that I like at the thrift stores, I pick it up. I currently have 3 NES and two Super NES games. I'm really wishing now, that when we moved to Alaska, my games were one of the things I'd decided to pack up rather than give away. Oh well, this is fun.

Seriously though, while we're on the topic of games, I'm a huge gamer girl. I love the classic NES/SNES era of games, though I'm devoted to my Xbox.

My favorite games are (in no particular order, despite the numbering):

1. Final Fantasy 6 (or 3 if you're in the classic generation)
2. Secret of Mana
3. Left 4 Dead
4. Catherine
5. Star Voyager

2: Jet Grind Radio (Dreamcast)
3: Mario 64 (N64)
4: Castle Wolfenstein (original Apple ][+ version - not the 3d)
5: Fallout 3 (XBox)

My top movies and not in order
1. Scarface
2. Bronx tale
3. City of God
4. Jet li's the legend
5. 5 deadly venoms(love love love this movie)

I really liked Scarface - but the gore was a bit much for me. I'm a real wimp when it comes to gore. :/

I don't have many "dreams" or even set expectations but I told hubby I WILL have this one day to truck our children around in:

I've had my heart set on it for years, and it doesn't even have to be this nice! But I will have a VW Wagon one day.

My very favorite games are actually the Ultima series of pc games (pretty much all of them). I still play them fairly regularly with boxer. I'm having an issue with Ultima VIII though because some of the Avatar movements require simultaneous right and left clicking and I have a Mac magic mouse which doesn't allow that on the OS I have. I could either get a logitec mouse or upgrade the os to mountain lion. Both options will cost about $20. I just haven't done either yet.

Fallout 3 barely doesn't make it in my list... It's such an amazing game. I actually have the names of the songs that Three Dog plays, if you want to have the soundtrack. And as a fan, you have to have heard the big announcement this week... The voice actor that plays Three Dog announced on his Facebook that he'd completed time in the studio for a "reprise" of Three Dog. I'm hoping for a Final Fantasy-like continuation of Fallout 3... Fallout 3-2?

Jet Grind is great, I downloaded it on XBL from the Marketplace a few weeks ago... Fun, but SO HARD. Games like that and Space Channel 9 are so great, but I hate being reminded at how I've gotten worse at games. LoL!
