  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Our church plans to go ahead rally day this year. We have a small Sunday School group (less than 10) and a large room to have it in, so we aren't worried about children being too close together. However, our usual carnival is out because it would involve too much sharing of equipment and encourages the children to cluster together. Does anyone have any ideas that can be done while spreading out? The ages anticipated are 3 to 9.

Hello!

What about a fancy special meal? You could even have a picnic outdoor complete with a healthy salad, fruitcake and platters of sandwiches plus bottles of water of course. Since there will be many children attending this event, perhaps it will be a good idea to have a list of activities for different age brackets as well just in case. What about having a art and craft table for any less active kids present? Consider having a theme for the day too. Time permitting you could even have some lively discussions and games for the older children. You could also get them to watch a Christian film.
