  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Radiohead/Coldplay comparisons are pretty silly; for the most part, Coldplay's music doesn't even slightly resemble the aspects of Radiohead's music that make RH unique.

That said, I do like Coldplay quite a bit; but they can't compare to Radiohead in my mind. Very few bands do.

um. i also have heard the 2 compared quite a bit.

and i would say that musically, and istrumentally, and maybe even creatively, Radiohead is better.

But i prefer listening to Coldplay. Radiohead makes me somewhat depressed, although it is incredible.

a month ago, i would have said Radiohead all the way, but with the release of X&Y, and with my purchase of their live 2003 cd/dvd, coldplay has made their way into my top 5 favorite artists to listen to right now. i think the fact that i'm in love right now also puts coldplay ahead, because they have alot of great love songs.

but they're both GREAT.

i love coldplay's attitude towards music as well.

I used to love Radiohead, but went off the band. It's a tough call between early Radiohead and Coldplay, but I'd go the The Bends era Radiohead. I absolutely loved that album. I have to say, that I'm not so keen on their later releases. Coldplay are good too, just not as good.

There are many things I like about Coldplay, and I respect the band members immensely, but I can't quite understand the incredible hype surrounding the band. Popularity doesn't indicate greatness. Radiohead released some songs that will be remembered and enjoyed (at least by me) for many, many years to come.

I would have to agree with you.

I love Coldplay, and I think they are very talented, but as nadroj said, they just can't even be compared to Radiohead.

Cmon, no coldplay album even comes close to Ok COmputer
