CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes, "if nature WAS different" ---a very big IF. There is absolutely no evidence to suggest that the laws of nature were any different in the past. Until such evidence comes to light it is prudent and safe to continue to operate on the hypothesis that these laws remain constant in time.

Once you admit that, the rest is easy.
There is absolutely no evidence to suggest that the laws of nature were the same in the past.
Until such evidence comes to light it is prudent and safe to continue to operate on the hypothesis that these laws were as God recorded for us.

Sorry, you seem to have me confused with an atheist. I see the glory of God in all creation. However, I also see it is billions of years in age and all life is of common descent. It is not necessary to rule God out in order to accept modern science.

You might find it's not necessary to accept the "modern science" of macroevolution the government schools shove down our throat as a fact either.

But since Carson and you and I share a common ancestor that is much more recent than our "monkey" ancestors he just admitted that he accepts common descent. He may have thought that he was being "smart" by trying to insult someone, in actuality he admitted to the reality of evolution and common descent.

It depends upon how you define "monkeys". As used today the term is not monophyletic. The split between New World monkeys and Old World monkeys occurred before the split between Old World monkeys and apes. Cladistically we are monkeys.
