I do find it very interesting that this narrative got pushed full blast just as the Russia narrative began to fall apart

Falling apart as in Mueller empaneling a grand jury? Or the revelation that Trump helped his son with his story about meeting with Russians? Or the FBI searching Trump's campaign manager's house after he testified before Congress about his involvement with Russia?

Come on, at least make up a believable excuse.

Pardon? He isn't a citizen.

So? A president can pardon anyone convicted (or accused or even suspected, as Ford pardoned Nixon) of a crime -- citizen or not.

Here's another thing. If Assange got the DNC emails from Russia then he is working against the US to help a foreign power, which is clear under the espionage act.

True, but he used those emails to help Donald -- that and a little flattery will net him a pardon.

Remember, in Donald's administration, there are only two crimes: disloyalty and/or upstaging him -- just ask Yates, Bhara, Comey, Spicer, Scaramucci, and Bannon.

He is not in the US, there are no charges filed against him. He is sequestered in a foreign embassy and will not leave.

So pray tell what does he need a pardon for??

Assange has never changed his story regarding not getting the information from Russia since day one.

But there are charges pending against him in the US.

Can't seem to find any. What court were they filed with?

Of coarse not, he wouldn't admit it even if it were true. He is afraid of being extradited to the US. Here he could possibly be charged under the espionage act. He would have to be very, very stupid to admit any such thing and Assange is not stupid.

So that he can leave... perhaps even back home without worrying about ever being extradited to the US -- or "extraordinarily rendered" to some other country that wants his hide.

You might find the answers in your own questions more often if you look.

"The US attorney general, Jeff Sessions, said on Thursday that the arrest of the WikiLeaks founder was now a “priority”. US federal prosecutors were understood to be considering bringing charges against Assange over a number of the website’s publications since 2010, US media reported, which could potentially lead to a second extradition request for Assange, from Washington."

As US prioritises Julian Assange arrest, UK hints Sweden comes first

So no charges yet and he is still in asylum and cannot be extradited

Thanks for the clarification.

However, Trump is able to issue a pardon forgiving any future crimes that Assange may be convicted of.

That and the Russian would just kill him.
