Wasn't it that same emperor, through that very same cult that introduced an annual festival on the 25th of December? If I recall correctly, the name of that festival was Sol Invictus.

Interesting, it explains how as the early church got corrupted by this belief, pagans then swelled its ranks as it was the same sun worship they had been doing.
