I just took this quiz on the Eucharist. It's pretty good. They are going to show by your answers who's view of the Lord's Supper you most closely line up with.

I scored 100% in line with John Calvin, which is what I expected. If read Calvin on this subject and think he is correct.

Take the test and let me know what you think. It is here

If you want to know more of what Calvin taught you can read Calvin or I would suggest you read Keith Mathison's book Given For You: Recovering Calvin's Doctrine Lord's Supper.

In Christ,
Kenith

I surprisingly scored:

100% Calvin

63% Zwingli

38% Catholic

19% Luther

0% Unitarian

I personally considered myself leaning more towards catholic, but I suppose certain questions probably tipped that balance. The symbolism of bread and wine for example. Unsurprisingly I am a 0% unitarian.

You are a Catholic. You believe that the bread and wine are transformed by the priest and become the Body and Blood of Christ. Though the accidents, or appearance, of bread and wine remain, the substance has been changed. The Eucharist remains the Body and Blood of Christ after the celebration, and is reserved in the Tabernacle; Eucharistic devotions are proper. As the whole Christ is present under either species, you partake fully of the Eucharist even if you receive only one.

:) I'm not surprised to be honest. ;) But I know nothing of what Calvin, Zwingli and the Unitarians believe...:o

I like the picture...;)

I can't figure out how to copy and paste without all the additional garbage so here goes:

I posted

88% Calvin
69% Zwigli
31% Luter
13% Uniterian
6% Catholic

although to be quite honest, I didn't understand many of the questions at all.

Growing up Quaker and not partaking of communion for the first 30 years of my life probably had something to do with that! Heck for the longest time I didn't even know what communion was!

Many of the questions were poorly worded. And it didn't give room for answering many of the questions as the Orthodox would answer them. So my highest was 63% Catholic.

On what major doctrinal points do the Eastern Orthodox differ, as relates to those questions, may I ask? I know about the adoration and processions, but I'm not sure about other things...

I scored 88% Calvin, followed by Luther (most of you had Zwingli second). Interesting. For the most part it was a good quiz, covering the issues fairly thoroughly. The attempt to not have everyone wind up in a narrow range by throwing a few bones to extreme positions such as with the flowers (Unitarian, I assume) and 'I'd call it flesh even if Jesus were pointing to X' (for Catholics, I assume) were lame and unnecessary IMO.

But I also agree with "St. Anselm" here that the commentary on Calvin given at the posting of the results was off. I'd say it was sublimely nuts.

It's seems that you'll be labelled that way if you believe that Christ can be spiritually present without being physically present.

Apparently, except that Nestorianism was not about how Christ is present in the sacrament but about his essential nature(s). To say that Calvinism is Nestorian betrays a significant lack of understanding.

What?? "Nestorian christology"??? What sort of biased survey is this??????

To start off with that seemed a bit off to me...but now I think I get it. Would explaining what I think is the reasoning behind this be debating? Please tell me and if it's not I'll post what I think the reasoning is...though as usual I might be wrong. :)

Thanks!
