I am sure God would be happy that we set aside our differences at least for one day and join together in rejoicing to all the things He has done for us, a little slice of heaven in our online world.............
What planet are you guys living on?

Who is stopping you?

Human nature nowadays demands 'instant gratification' as we all have seen, and if someone has a complaint or personal attack foisted upon them and sees a moderator, do you think they will hold back from presenting it for satisfaction of their problem?

Do you really think that people first look to see whether a moderator is in the forum before reporting a post? Each thread only lists which poster are watching that thread. You would have to leave the offensive thread and enter the main forum to determine who is presently in the forum. Tell me who does that before they report a post.

If you look up top under Currently Active Users it displays a red M to the side of the user who is a mod any time a moderator is in the forum, and if he goes into a thread...

Sorry, what was your question?
It's only a couple posts above the last. I hope it is not against your religion to scroll up. I just checked and you did not even present an alternative form of the problem. You restated exactly what I said.

Por favor, Can you present your question again, as a courtesy so we can carefully go over it as needed?

Read the question in post #25.

As far as I can tell I answered all the questions you put up, so as a favour to my poor eyesight, and as a gentleman could you give me the courtesy of repeating the question so there is no misunderstanding on it, so I can give you my undivided attention in answering it...

This has nothing to do with being a gentleman so stop playing those games. As a favour to your poor eyesight I am reposting the question in large font.

Do you really think that people first look to see whether a moderator is in the forum before reporting a post?

It goes without saying, at least I always do, and any poster worth his salt would most certainly look to see if he can shortcut it and get to the source rather than wait for the pony express to get there...:)

Maybe you have too much salt. I hope you keep well in brine.

It would be my hope that it won't take too long to get the SDAs who post here to learn the art of discussion rather than the hostility of debate. As sentipente has said, it isn't Sabbath around the world all at once. However the bulk of those who post here are from North America, and I would hope that a little common sense would be used as to what kind of a post is made during Sabbath hours no matter where on the globe a poster lives.

It would be good however for at least some mods to drop by on Sabbath to take care of the questions that may be ask by visitors to this site. If a visitor wants to debate, then it would be up to the mod or the member who first sees a post whether to proceed with the answer or not. Remember, there is no requirment to make an immeadiate answer to any web site. I've also noticed that those that want to debate are willing to wait until someone showes up to debate with.

Rspectfully, your brother n Christ,
Doc

Yes, if a visitor dropped in, a mod could assist him as that is part of helping others, sharing and fellowshiping just when you greet everyone at the church door. then we could give witness as to how on our Sabbath we set aside debate so that everyone can join in. This would take care of the issue of mods wanting to fellowship on the Sabbath with a method that would not intefere with complaints, just reduce them during that period and let everyone participate without angry debate and the resulting high levels of issues that it generates. Two purposes are served, the Sabbath is allow for all including 'mods' to fully participate, and a testimony is given to all who come to our Adventist section of the forum to the greater glory of God.........

Everyone including mods that wanted to fellowship would still be present, but we would take off our 'mod hats' and just be sharing and enjoying Gods day with everyone, just like in heaven......

I think this sounds great, and although it may seem obvious to some Adventists it wouldn't hurt to have it in the rules for others. :)

Why don't you right up a rule to go in the Wiki, post it in the Wiki thread (http://www.christianforums.com/t5739473&nw_show=comments) an if others like it we'll get it up for a vote so it can be added. ^_^ You'd be best to word it, since you've done a good job explaining it so far.

it sounds like a great idea, but is not really practical.

plus Mods can take a day off if the want.
If it's worded right it could be practical, considering SDA's all keep the Sabbath (logically, anyway..considering the name). I think the key will not be aiming it at "Mods get the day off" as much as wording it more towards a guideline of no debate on the Sabbath for the members and mods.

At the very least it should cut down the quanitity, right? And gives the mods a rule to point out if someone starts a clear debate on one of these days, or it will slow people from responding to it.
