I didn't know this, I always thought that scripture was the inspired words of God, given to men either by Himself or the Holy Spirit?Well, scripture came from tradition. And our traditions don't clash with scripture, they are in harmony.
As Catholics are Christians, there was no goal post to move. What I would guess she was doing was defining, that this was a "Catholic" tradition, that wasn't acknowledged/practiced in other "Christian" denominations. I also didn't know that halloween came straight from the pages of the bible. Would you be able to give me the bible reference for this please.Yeah, you stepped on toes. You reject halloween for its pagan roots, and then when I bring up the fact that it has christian roots, you move the goalposts and say they're catholic and not based in scripture - as if that makes them non-christian.
Why then has it mainly be celebrated by the Americans and not the rest of the world? Here in Australia it is only in recent years that halloween has even been observed, and not by the churches in general, it is still a secular celebration at this point.
I would think that she does acknowledge the Catholic root very well. Sadly most Christian's don't realize that the Catholic church considers all protestant churches her daughters, because of the simple fact that they keep Sunday as their day of worship, and not the 7th day Sabbath as commanded in Scripture, because only the Catholic church has the right to change times and days. You acknowledge the fact that Jesus was a jew, you value those roots, it would make sense to also acknowledge the catholic roots of all protestant denominations.
