  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

i'm sorry, was not sure how much to put here being new.
about three years ago I had two different pastors tell me I had a calling on my life to preach, thats when all the trouble started. I've had a heart attack, twenty seven kidney stones three they had to go after (whew) almost uncontrolled high blood pressure, and now liver, it seems like attacks to keep me weak and out of the battleground. I guess my question is do these attacks seem very strong or is this normal?

Ok a couple of pastors said you have the calling but do you feel the calling? Is God telling you this is what he wants you to do?

Attacks can be quiet strong. When I was asked to be a deacon in my church my marriage came under immediate attack and it was over nonsense. I thank God he gave me clairity to see that it was nonsense and was definately an attack and gave me the power to reign it in. My wife is bi polar, she has very excessive mood swings, and brother let me tell you excessive means excessive. One minute she will be giddy and running around the house laughing and the next she could be contemplating suicide. It's caused by a strong hormonal imbalance. She's on medication and it keeps her on an even keel to where her mood swings have a rational basis in the fact she doesn't get upset any worse than any other woman and her highs are no more or less than what is the norm. Every marriage has good and hard years. Well when I was asked to be deacon we were having a very very good year. Feeling extremely close to eachother and to God. She was taking her medication regularly. The day after I was asked by the elders she blew up and was ready to walk out the door and get a divorce because I had decided to quit playing a game. The funny thing is we never played this game together so it really didn't affect her. I literally stopped her at the door and told her "I dont think so!" I flat out told her we were under attack and prayed against it with her and you could feel the air change in the room and the lights change instantly. Other attacks aren't so easily delt with but they are usually all strong. You aren't going to beat them yourself. You have to rely on God's power to do it. Are you under attack or justhaving alot of medical problems crop up at once stemming from a particular cause such as diet? I dont know. Are you being called to preach? Only you know if God has put that calling on your life. Just because you have the gift doesn't mean you have the calling. I know many guys who have the gift of preaching and they use it. But they haven't given up their jobs to be full time pastors because that isn't their calling.

Wow Lee! I'd say that's a pretty good indication that the adversary won't like what you have to say. I'd have a serious prayer session with those pastor's you spoke with. In the meantime it would probably be a good idea to talk with a good Christian doctor to sort out some of the damage and take steps for healing on that side. We'll be praying for you!

I think that as long as your a person of God, and God has called you to do something, you are going to face attacks from the devil.

The Lord does give everyone(that is willing to receive it)their calling. Once we decide to do what is in God's Will, we will face some troubles and interestingly enough, it is often at the time when we are first learning about or entering the ministry. The timing couldn't be more convient... Blah!!! But that's just to discourage and to try to keep you from carrying out God's plans.

I know that I've experiences alot of hurt and pain from a person very close to me. Things were going well and out of the clear blue sky, it changed in a matter of minutes! I know that it was just the devil stirring the pot to try and get me to give up. The thing is, i wasn't completely sure of my gift/calling, but the devil was trying to put a road blocker so i wouldn't want to know. Needless to say it didn't work and the Lord says that things are going to work out fine.

Its important to know that whatever the road blocker (health, family, friends, work, significant other, etc) don't let it stop you! Recognize it (the devil) for what it is, pray about, and ask the Lord to guide you on what to do next;) Let the devil know that he has already been defeated:clap: You should carry out whatever God has planned no matter what is up against you.

P.S: sorry for such the long post. lol

Satan can be crafty trust you me. Im currently in college right now studying to be a youth minister. Well last year my grades where BAD and seminary was looking out of the picture. Well this year God has brought my grades up 100% and im holding on good. I have gone through alot this year and Satan has done just about everything to stop me. PRAYER!!!!!! Has brought me through all of it. Satan will do everything he can to stop you. Turning to God for help is the only answer. Keep praying, keep studying the word, and keep on keepen on brother.

As for a calling to the ministry that is something I found after hours of praying, fasting, and meditation. The Lord will let you know whats right you just need to follow him. Keep up the fight and I will be praying for you! God bless you all.

Love brother ~Justin~ :priest:
