I didn't want my first thread to be like this, but I've seen some others like it so I thought I would start one.

I've changed a lot of peoples minds on this, so I found it necessary.

1 - What would be the purpose of a half wing?
2 - What evidence do you have for the TRex being a meat eater? Don't say because of it's teeth. This is like finding the bones of a tall man and assuming he was a basketball player!
3 - If humans are animals, why don't we act like it?
4 - If the appendix is 'vestigial', why is it part of the digestive system?
5 - If we share a common ancestor with apes, how do they have two more chromosomes than we do. YES WE DO! Look it up yourselves. I've never gotten ANY explanation for this.
6 - ALL dead organisms leave behind dead bodies. So why do evolutionist claim that we only have like 100 transitional forms?
7 - Why don't Monkey's have babies today?
8 - Why have so many humans claimed to have seen dinosaurs in the congo and Lockness?

Evolution requires faith.

I can't wait to see some of the struggling responses to this.:)

I didn't want my first thread to be like this, but I've seen some others like it so I thought I would start one.

None of them were educated in biology were they?

1 - What would be the purpose of a half wing?
Besides swimming and gliding?

2 - What evidence do you have for the TRex being a meat eater? Don't say because of it's teeth. This is like finding the bones of a tall man and assuming he was a basketball player!
So you know the real answer you just want to ignore it. So you go through out life and all meat eaters teeth look the same, you dig up a fossil of a giant tooth that looks exactly like what all the other meat eaters teeth look like and you expect it to be a tooth from something other than a meat eater?
3 - If humans are animals, why don't we act like it?
We do, we have the urges to procreate, we are protective of our young, we have the insticts of fight or flight just like every other animal.
4 - If the appendix is 'vestigial', why is it part of the digestive system?
Er, you do realize that the appendix doesn't actually do anything don't you? Do you not know what 'vestigial' means?
5 - If we share a common ancestor with apes, how do they have two more chromosomes than we do. YES WE DO! Look it up yourselves. I've never gotten ANY explanation for this.
http://www.pnas.org/content/88/20/9051.full.pdf There's a study detailing how two ape chromosomes merged into one.
6 - ALL dead organisms leave behind dead bodies. So why do evolutionist claim that we only have like 100 transitional forms?
You were told that 100 is all there were? Well that's just confusing, there are probably alot we don't know about. Here's a large list of some of the ones we do know about. List of transitional fossils - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
7 - Why don't Monkey's have babies today?
Er.

They do have babies.... where did you think new monkeys came from?
8 - Why have so many humans claimed to have seen dinosaurs in the congo and Lockness?
For the same reason so many humans have claimed to have been kidnapped by aliens.

Evolution requires faith.
Actually all it requires is some education. And you've come to the right place to get it.

I can't wait to see some of the struggling responses to this.:)
Then I'm afraid you've come to the wrong forum.

1 - What would be the purpose of a half wing?
I give up. What is the purpose of a half wing?

2 - What evidence do you have for the TRex being a meat eater?
Don't say because of it's teeth. This is like finding the bones of a tall man and assuming he was a basketball player!
In anatomy, form follows function, and teeth are an excellent indication of the form of food a creature dines on. Large, flat shearing incisors; reduced or absent canines, and flat molars enable herbivores to grasp and process vegetation. On the other hand, reduced incisors, prominent canines, and pointed carnasials are far more helpful in grasping, tearing, and chewing flesh. So when we come upon a set of teeth its reasonable to assume its owner ate the type of food its teeth are best suited for. A carnivore with herbivore teeth wouldn't survive, and vise versa. So paleontologists, not stupid people at all, put two and two together and confidently conclude that TRex was a carnivore because it had teeth best fitting carnivorous feeding.

3 - If humans are animals, why don't we act like it?
But we do. We breath air. We have a circulatory system of blood, We have limbs. Etc. As for behavior, like other animals, we fight, have sex, pair bond, play, hunt, and poop.

4 - If the appendix is 'vestigial', why is it part of the digestive system?
It isn't vestigial. It may well harbor and protect bacteria that are beneficial to the function of the colon. It may also play a roll in the immune system.

5 - If we share a common ancestor with apes, how do they have two more chromosomes than we do. YES WE DO! Look it up yourselves. I've never gotten ANY explanation for this.
It's probably because you haven't bothered to look. Take a peek HERE Oh yes, the difference isn't a matter of two more chromosomes, as much as it is one more pair.

6 - ALL dead organisms leave behind dead bodies. So why do evolutionist claim that we only have like 100 transitional forms?
What evolutionists? And, of course, "leaving behind dead bodies" is far too imprecise to be meaningful.

7 - Why don't Monkey's have babies today?
Because Darwin told them they couldn't. All the monkeys in the world are either very old or reincarnations of those that died off years ago.

8 - Why have so many humans claimed to have seen dinosaurs in the congo and Lockness?
Might try asking them, but my guess is that they like duping the gullible masses. For some it's a profitable enterprise.

Evolution requires faith.
Evolution requires genetic mutation and selective pressures.

I can't wait to see some of the struggling responses to this.
Sorry, but instant gratification is for children. You're just going to have to wait, hailto. And, if you have truly "changed a lot of peoples minds on this" I have to assume they were all under the age of twelve.

1 - What would be the purpose of a half wing?
What do you mean a half wing? As in, without feathers? Like for gliding?

2 - What evidence do you have for the TRex being a meat eater? Don't say because of it's teeth. This is like finding the bones of a tall man and assuming he was a basketball player!
No, it's like finding a reeeeally long human thigh bone and therefore concluding he was probably a tall person.

3 - If humans are animals, why don't we act like it?
Animals procreate, eat, excrete waste, and have thoughts and feelings. Humans do as well. If we don't act like animals, then why are there advertisements for food everywhere? Why is there a thriving porn industry?

4 - If the appendix is 'vestigial', why is it part of the digestive system?
What do you mean "part of the digestive system"? What do you think an appendix does in your body? Do you understand what "vestigial" means?

5 - If we share a common ancestor with apes, how do they have two more chromosomes than we do. YES WE DO! Look it up yourselves. I've never gotten ANY explanation for this.
You've never gotten an explanation about how chromosome numbers can change? It's all over the internet if you want to find it. Google "aneuploidy", "monoploidy", and "euploidy", which are the three ways the number of chromosomes can change.

6 - ALL dead organisms leave behind dead bodies. So why do evolutionist claim that we only have like 100 transitional forms?
What evolutionist claims this? Please cite a source. If you want to see a transitional form, look in the mirror. Everyone you see is a transitional form, none of us are exactly like our parents, and we are all stepping stones on the evolutionary chain. Some changes are small, some are huge. But we are each and every one of us transitioning the human species.

7 - Why don't Monkey's have babies today?
Is this a joke? You don't think monkeys have offspring?

8 - Why have so many humans claimed to have seen dinosaurs in the congo and Lockness?
For the same reason so many humans have claimed to see ghosts, see angels, see demons, see aliens, see bigfoot monsters, see God, etc. For the same reason humans claim that to follow God's will, they can strap on bombs and get virgins in heaven, or if they kill themselves they will be transported to an alien ship in the tail of the Hale Bopp comet and escape Earth's certain destruction. For the same reason humans will follow Charles Manson, the Branch Dividians, or other cults. For the same reason humans will claim to understand the will of God.

Av's response is not off topic. Obviously pre-mediatedly and deliberately killing a baby at his/her most vulnerable is not protecting one's young.

And it's also something that animals do. So yes it's an attempt to take the thread off topic.

It's perfectly on topic. Killing babies is not protecting one's young.

I was unaware the topic was protecting one's young.

I know that you love nothing more than dragging threads off topic, but don't do it to this one.

It's not off-topic.

move on.

I have read both pro-evolution and pro-creation books that give examples of people seeing dinosaurs in the congo and other areas of the world. I don't think that should be dismissed so easily, regardless of your belief about evolution.

Isn't it also true that fruit bats have sharp teeth like a meat eater? Again, I don't think it's fair to mock the idea that sharp teeth do not = meat eater.

Thank you for sharing that.

The shape of teeth does tell about diet. Fruit bats have pointed canines and chisel-shaped incisors but the back teeth are grinding teeth
Teeth are shaped to bite through fruit skin and crush the soft fruit matter. The front incisors, chisel-shaped teeth at the front of the mouth, are small and all have canines, four pointed teeth. Teeth at the sides and back tend to be flat and wide.

T-Rex on the other hand did not have grinding teeth

trexskull.jpg

The bite marks of these teeth are quite recognizable on some dinosaur bones.

Also T-Rex coprolites (fossilized poop) show that it was meat eater.

Coprolites, the scientific term for fossilized dung, are relatively common and can provide scientists with a wealth of information on diet and digestive processes. Unfortunately, deciphering who made the dropping can be a problem.
In 1995, Ms. Wendy Sloboda of the RSM discovered the largest known fossilized dung from a carnivore. It measures 44 x 16 x 13 cm and weighs over 7 kg. It is unique because it can be definitely attributed to a carnivorous dinosaur. The coprolite contains shattered bone fragments, likely from a juvenile dinosaur, indicating that a large carnivore must have deposited the dung. The only creature in the area large enough to eat a small dinosaur was the Tyrannosaurus which weighed at least 5500 kg.

The shattered bone fragments suggest it did not chew its meal, but rather it shattered and swallowed a lot of bones while feeding on its prey.

No. They may have sharp teeth, but they are not like a meat eater's teeth.

Again, I don't think it's fair to mock the idea that sharp teeth do not = meat eater.

You realize that there's more to "meat eater" than just sharp teeth, and that sharp teeth on their own don't necessarily mean "meat eater", right? There are, however, certain types of sharp teeth that strongly suggest a specific diet. Besides, there are plenty of bigger Creationist ideas that deserve mocking more than "sharp teeth do not = meat eater."
