I'm Mennonite, too! :)
This has nothing to do with this thread, well, it sort of does. What is the definition of a Menonite? I ask because where I live and grew up, we have a lot of Amish and Menonite. The two always seemed closely related. I knew a lot more Amish and was friendlier with them mostly because of being a tutor and helping some of them. From what I knew of Menonites, they were very "unworldly" as well. But, that can't be true if you are online, can it? ;) I worked at a restuarant with a Menonite woman and she always told me she was Amish with "spunk"! ^_^ It's hard to ask people about their faith and beliefs when you're a kid. And now I'm an adult 10 years later and don't anyone to ask!

Anyway, just curious as to clarification.

Amish and Mennonites are both Anabaptist groups who follow the teachings of Menno Simons. The Amish actually split from the Mennonites because they felt they weren't being strict enough on certain issues

While most Amish avoid technology and you are unlikely to find many on the internet, Mennonites vary a lot more on this issue and many Mennonite churches are not very different from your average evangelical church.

A few emphases of both groups are pacifism, communal sharing, rejection of infant baptism and separation of church and state.

Yes! Thank you. :) You hit the nail on the head. We live in an Amish community and they occasionally come here to use our phone. Our church is an Evangelical church and we use today's Praise & Worship music as well as the hymnal.

That's interesting to know. I read the links, too. Good stuff. The Menonites here must be of the very strict and more closely following the lines of the Amish. They drive cars and have radios and phones, but no TV, no technology beyond that. Anyway, thanks for the information.
