This is pretty interesting, seeing christians defend evolution. I presume everyone here is christian. May i ask what it is that eveyone thinks evolution is, give me a summary. And intelligent design for that matter. As a non-christian (more specifically an agnostic) and a pretty "devoted"
scientist i find it all very difficult to see the diffuclty everyone has with evolution. It does not even come close to denying a supreme being, which is what is important isnt it, really. There is still a realm outside of current scientific understanding that could be the perminent residense of 'god'. "Believers" only need to worry when "god" turns round to the scientist who has found his way into his back garden and says "hello, how are you, im god". Metaphore a bit shakey i know. All evolution does that is getting the backs up of christians all over the world is that it infringes on more derived doctrines, genesis etc. But just like all hard-liners, they either die stubborn or have to change their ways and relax a little.
In the defense of evolution it would appear that the vast majority of oppositions to it are fairly trounsed at the upper end of reason. Just think how much peaceful everyone would be if they just sat down and did a bit of research and thinking. Even christians can't deny logic.
