Well I live in a suburb, and I work in the capital, so walking there should take eternity... so I drive. Before I used to take public transportation where you obviously have to walk too... I used to like it but I really got tired of it, cause transportation is horrible here... but now I'm on the other side, I'm too confortable... I want to drive everytwhere! (it's also true that I'm very busy so I have to same time by driving...) I still try to trick myself and walk to some places like to friends, co-workers who live in the same street etc. Church is right next door, so I walk there! :)

How come that you're still awake? :) Isn't it too late there? (What's the exact time where you live?)
The exact time right now is 2:17 AM. I am still awake but definitely do not want to be. I am writing a 2000 word essay for uni which must be posted by 5 PM tomorrow. I'm also watching the 5th Ashes Test, which is being delayed because of poor light.

I'm on here because I am exhausted and need something to ease the intense concentration of study (that doesn't probably make sense to you). Breaking my concentration every few minutes for a few seconds is helping me cope at this stage....

How is your job going at the moment?

No-no. I understand what you mean! It's good to know that I can be a help! :)

Well, school has just started here like a week ago and I became a class mistress so ist's kinda exciting. I'm going to teach a new subject too (called "project") and I have this bunch of kids to be responsible for... pretty challenging especially that it's all in a dropout high school :)

What is an Ashes Test??

Lovely to hear!

"The Ashes" is the ultimate prize in cricket. Australia and England contend for them every two years; they started in 1880 (or so; can't remember the exact year) when England lost a Test series to Australia and burned the stumps and bails (which are made of wood), putting the ashes in an urn, in mourning the "death of English cricket".

Tests are the highest and most elite level of cricket.

This series has been hailed as the greatest ever by many: it is unbelievably exciting and everyone is hooked on it. England may well win the Ashes back for the first time since 1986 (before I was born!); Australia are fighting to hold on to them and remain the number 1 team in world cricket (which they have been for a decade or so).

The English are even saying that this 5th Test is the biggest sporting event in English sport since the 1960 World Cup football final, which England won, and football is huge in England.

That's what an Ashes Test is. :)

Do you drink coffee or tea, and how do you take it?

Thanks for the detailed explanation!!! :)

Do you drink coffee or tea, and how do you take it?
Well I only drink coffee occasionally, when I haven't slept enough of when I'm very tired and I need "fress brain". It should be sweet with lots of milk! :) (I don't really like the taste of coffee...)

I drink tea during cold winter evenings... there's nothing better than that!! And I like ice tea (only one brand "Nestea" and only peach. It rocks!!!)

Before I ask the question here's a little joke that hopefully keeps you awake (i just got it via e-mail):
Mother decided that 10-year-old Cathy should get something 'practical' for her birthday.
"Suppose we open a savings account for you?" mother suggested. Cathy was delighted.
"It's your account, darling," mother said as they arrived at the bank, "so you fill out the application."
Cathy was doing fine until she came to the space for 'Name of your former bank.' After a slight hesitation, she put down 'Piggy.'

Do you think the others will be bored/angry with our "little" converstaion that we're having here for pages now on this thread?

Hahaha, the joke... :)

Don't know. We're only using this thread as it has been intended to be used, but maybe.

Do you?

Yeah I agree with you, still I'm kinda worried a bit. Oh well, we've been working hard on getting to know each other while they were sleeping!?!? :) And there's still a lot of space they can use tomorrow :)

I'm glad you liked the joke, so did I! :)

Do you have any short funny joke?

I'm horrible at telling jokes - I can never remember any.

I'll try though... and since we were just talking about the subject of coffee:

A man walks into a cafe and says "I'll have a coffee without milk."

The cafe owner says "I'm sorry, we're out of milk - would you like it without cream instead?"

Do you think we should call it a night so as not to upset anyone in this thread or use alternative methods of communication (instead of this thread)?

Being a male it would be unusual for me to have a 'hubby' so is a wife alright???!

Well to answer THAT question, do you REALLY want to know!? :)

Besides, that!, we like to go on walks together (bit hard now with tooooo much arthritis in my 53 year young body), watching TV, discussing our thoughts and beliefs.
If you could change one thing about any thing you like what would you change?

What is your favourite song to play whilst flicking on your jaw?
When the Saints Go Marching In..In honour of my beloved footy team of course!

Do you think that kids today are smarter than we were in our day?

hmm... Good question... It depends on what do you mean by smart! Maybee kids have more knowledge on school subjects nowdays (see: IT, science etc), but it seems to me that they are a lot behind about life issues... I think earlier it was different.. (e.g. if that time an 18 year old got married and she/he knew how to found a family etc. and look an 18 year old nowdays... of course generally speaking)

Which is the best technical invention by your opinion? Why?

At the moment mine is rice crackers. I am trying to lose some kilos (20 to be exact) and get rid of my poochy baby belly so I snack on those instead of chips and butter popcorn (now that doesn't mean I don't miss those things) Oooooh for a piece of chocolate (I'd better stop thinking about this, thank goodness the cupboard is practically empty - shopping tomorrow)

Favourite thing to do on a Saturday?

Since I'm a youth leader and we have always had youth group on Saturdays, the afternoon and evening is scheduled for that, and the morning is normally about cleaning the house.... But if there is no youth group for some reason I just like to go out with my friends!

Do you have a particular person in your life whom you look up to? If so who is that and for what reason?

Depends on what you mean by look up to people.
I think that people are better than me on basically an automatic basis, but as for looking up to them and wanting to be like them... I can't even remember doing that. Why dream of that which can never happen? :S

What's the silliest thing that you've worn in public?
