another point about Adam. even if he was a *leader*, he was leading his children. which is the normal act for any father...
so if he was a prophet because he taught his children about God, then I am a prophet too because i taught my children about God , right?

If Muslims says that Ishamel was a prophet(!), then what do you expect about Adam!

My question is that, you've claimed [based on the quran] that Jesus is no more than a messenger...

but here it says the Messiah Isa son of Marium is
1-a messenger of Allah and
2-His Word which He communicated to Marium and
3-a spirit from Him;
and you[and quran] said The Messiah (Jesus), son of Mary, was no more than a Messenger

so is that a contradiction or *it appeared to me* ??
or it seems muhamd didn't know exactly what the Messiah is

Well was your prediction right or wrong? I didn't read every post but I saw no "bashing." Do you know why that might be? Maybe the "bashing" was for the most part your own illusion and Islam simply is what it is, and the facts are what they are.

This sounds all very patronizing to the Christian, Nemesis, just so you know. It's sort of like us saying Mohammed had one of the most powerful sex drives, and dumbing him down to a lower level. (I understand Muhammed's male followers marveled at his stamina). Jesus claimed to be the son of God, and said he would rise from the dead. He did hundreds more miracles than any prophet. Our Bible says all the apostles saw him after he was crucified and raised from the dead. We believe he died for the sins of the whole world. Muslims try to rob him of his due glory and worst of all they rob people of the knowledge that their sins are atoned for by God himself, leaving them to wish and hope they might someday be accepted by him.

I just have a few questions about the Islamic faith, I posted my first few questions on a previous thread, but one of my fellow members suggested creating a new thread so, here it is.

My first new question is what exactly is the difference between the two main factions of Islam Shi'a and Sunni (excuse my spelling please).

Secondly, I have heard that there are liberal Muslims and I was just wondering what are the differences between liberals and conservatives in terms of pracitces and beliefs.

Please don't post if you aren't going to answer my questions . I honestly want to learn about Islam. I apologize in advance for my christian bretheren which I am positive are going to post on this thread and bash Islam.

The difference between Shi'a and Sunni Muslims is a dispute over leadership. I don't know about liberal and conservative Muslims.

Regarding the liberal and conservative muslims question well its kind of a difficult question to answer….Simply, cuz Islam was founded on a path of moderation not too much on either side which the term liberal and conservative imply..The Almighty God in the Quran said "Thus We have made you a middle nation…" [Sûrah al-Baqarah: 143] Islam as a way of life always takes the middle course in every aspect…


While calling upon all Muslims to exercise moderation with all permissible things, Islam clearly and categoricallly rejects all forms of extremism, including "ghuluw" (excessiveness) , "tanatu" (zealotry) and "tashadid" (extreme practices). The Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings of Allah be upon him said in the hadith "I warn you of religious extremism; nations before you have perished because of religious
extremism" (as narrated by Imams Ahmed, Al-Ne’sa’ee, Ben Maja, Al Ha Kim and Sahih).

i think this is silly.
we have one person qouting verses from the Quran and saying how that could have never happened and how ideas and legends were borrowed and therefore that makes the whole Quran a falsity and therefore Islam is false...

that is why I see your post as irrelevant and based on "ignorance' of the facts provided.
