  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How do you guys feel about a girl and a guy who are dating, but they stay with each other over spring break? Both are Christians of course.

The reason I ask this is because I am about to confront a friend of mine because he did this.

I do not feel that spending the night with your girlfriend is a sin, but I do feel that you are seriously being unwise and lack discernment. I do not want my buddy to screw up his life and mess up. I know that regardless of who you are you cannot overcome your flesh desires if you constantly put yourself in harms way.

But then again that could just be an opinion and conviction of mine that I should keep to myself.

What would you do...

confront or not do a thing.

If it was my friend, I would talk to him and share my thoughts and emotions, obviously you care enough to get involved...How old is this friend? If he is an adult then it really is his life, but you could still share your concerns with him using openess and honesty...He is lucky to have a friend who cares so much...Best of luck to you, my prayers are with you, with love and blessings...
