What was your first church when you became a Christian and how did you find it?

I was raised in the Church of the Nazarene. When I was 19 a friend of mine invited me to Calvary Chapel and I attended there for 10 years. Now I am a member of the LCMS and was invited there by family members.

When I 'became' a christian I was attending a disciples of Christ fellowship. When I was born again, I was attending a baptist fellowship.

What does the Latin mean on your Lutheran emblem? The three "sola's", and the Jesus Christus Dominus EST?

The three solas mean: Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Scripture Alone.


Dominus EST means He is the Lord.

I understood the gospel and started following Christ in my 30s. The church my wife and I had been attending had a pastor who finally got me to understand.

It was the non-denominational church my parents took me to.

I was raised a Mormon until I entered military service. I drifted away from God until a good friend of mine started asking me questions about scripture. I began to attend a Non-Denominational church and Promise Keepers events, which led me back. Praise God for His patients with me. I should have been dead several times, but through His mercy I escaped the grips of the reaper every time.
