Toddlers who cannot possibly repent because they cannot grasp that they are sinners, God will extend mercy to. That includes stillborns, newborns that do not thrive, and aborted babies. Heaven is full of them.

They only have eyes for Jesus and they have no other "faith" than faith in Jesus Christ...not that they need faith when they are looking into His face!

No one's judging anyone here. I asked for scripture and verse to back up your belief there may be exceptions to going to heaven other than thru Jesus Christ. I'm still waiting for scripture.

As far as babies go I don't know the answer to that. If the OP would have said "Does a newborn who dies at birth have as much chance as an adult Christian" This would be an all together different topic. I hope my nephew who died at 2 months because his own father shook him to death isn't in Hell because I'd really love to rejoice with him in Heaven. At the same time I cannot know that and I don't get my way. Jesus did enough by offering Himself as a sacrifice. I can't also demand he brings my nephew to Heaven. I can hope with all my heart my little nephew is there and not in Hell but I don't know.

Since the OP made it seem as if he were talking about someone who had enough time to come to such a decision as "God is not real, there is no God at all" then I am gonna have to say...God judges the heart, but biblically speaking none of us deserves Heaven so an atheist who practically walked around shooting God the middle finger (spiritually) will PROBABLY go to Hell. That's still only probably since I don't know the guy as well as God does.

If I, an imperfect human, can love and forgive my children, even when they reject me, I am sure that He, whose love is infinitely greater than mine, will not condemn a child who does not know Him to hell.
That doesn't fit with what I know of God.

So let me ask you: Lets say a little boy is a Muslim, living in some dusty village, and Islam is all he knows. Lets say this little boy dies, but he was always a good boy. You think God will send that little boy to hell over something he had no control of?


My support is common sense, and a God not only of justice but also of great mercy.

Both the law and the gospel of Christ were delivered near that part of the world where Islam originated (Saudi Arabia), so that little Muslim boy you want us all to feel so sorry for is actually without excuse as he was born in the very region of the world that received the Gospel of salvation through Christ first. There is no reason to believe he could not get access to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, particularly in this day and age.

I believe in the words of the Bible, but I disagree with that sort of absolutism. God judges the hearts of men, not us.

It is possible that those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience, may also achieve eternal salvation. It is less likely, but it is possible

This statement was made before any mention of children. Tu Es Petrus, I've asked several times for scripture to back up this assertion. The reason I continue to address this is because it's a dangerous position to have. It sounds similar to the word according to new age Oprah.

She believes everyone who means well and has good intentions will go to heaven. Regardless of religion. This is blatantly false.
