  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yellow is colostrum, so that's good! It can also be thinner and clearer, but yellow is better. :) Mature milk is thinner, and almost has a bluish cast to it.... unless you have a premie or underweight baby (or a baby with problems) then your mature milk will have a Much higher fat content and will be yellower and thicker.

The things you learn!!!

I have another question... so i'll ask here rather than starting another thread!!!

I've been getting some really bad lower back pain... it happens alot of the time and gets worse when I have to stand for long periods of time (ie work). Is the back pain normal? I realise it will get worse when standing... but is it normally a problem to have it most of the day?
And does that mean i am more likely to have worse back pain in labour if i had it during pregnancy?
Also when I am on my feet at work i get pain in my tummy, right down low and its kinda weird, sharp but not... Is that ok?

I will ask my ob these questions on Thursday at my appointment... but I thought i'd check with you ladies first!!!

It's totally normal in the 3rd trimester for those pesky "relaxing" hormones to hit high gear. Your muscles, ligaments, and tendons are Literally softening so that you can birth your baby when the time comes. It's more noticeable in some pregnancies than others (with my last baby I swear it happened from the 1st trimester. My hips kept "sliding" out of joint and it was painful to walk the Whole pregnancy! ugh Thank G-d I'm in better shape this time. ;))

One thing that you Can do to relieve the backache is to go to the chiropractor. He/she will adjust your lower back & tail bone and get things aligned properly again. It's also important because if your pelvic bones & lower back are out of alignment, the chances of the baby being an odd position are Much greater (which translates to a longer more uncomfortable labor).

The lower back pain has Nothing to do with the possibility of back labor. Back labor is, pure & simple, from the baby being in an odd position during labor. The best thing to do if you Do end up with back labor, is to get on your hands & knees. That position will get the baby off your spine, and encourage him/her to rotate into a better position.

Thanks for the info jgnoz...
The girls at work had me worried, they kept telling me because I have had back pain in pregnancy, I will definitely get it during labour...

I try not to listen to them too much, but its hard, i don't know what to expect... i've never done it before!!!

My belly has gotten harder all over... and it has stayed hard... doesn't come and go like the bh do... Again, is this normal?

Sorry if these questions seem silly, but i really don't know what is 'normal' or acceptable!!!

Yes, the tightening actually Does come & go, but it can be so close together that you don't realize it (being occupied with work, etc.) Don't worry about that stuff though~ BH contractions are Good for your uterus. They help tone & strengthen and ready your body for labor. :)
