I'm a protestant and not any particular denomination. I was wondering if it would be wrong for me to go to a monestary to pray. I don't want to be Catholic i'm not even interested in becoming catholic. I just want a quiet place to pray and focus. There is a monestary near by that they keep open during the day for people to visit the grounnds , ect. There are real monks there and everything. It's just a quiet and peaceful place and would it be wrong for me to go there to just sit and pray?

No, it wouldn't be wrong. They are brothers and sisters in the faith, IMHO.

There has been an underlying corruption of Christ's message by religious "group think" instilling fear and of "them." Don't give into fear and division.

The fact that you wish to pray in such an interesting place (wow, a monestary...) makes me feel good. Make sure its ok with them first though... They may be territorial.

well it's open to the public, they allow people to visit the grounds and the chapel all day long, so I don't think they would be territorial. I went there several times before and the monks just sort of leave you alone unless you want to talk to them. It's very quiet and peaceful there.

Like the others have said, it should be alright. If you've gone before and they seemed fine with it, then there should be no problems. Monestaries (when open to the Public) are usually places for people of any faith to come and quietly reflect. A Monestary by me has the same thing, and you can go and visit their grounds when the gate is open

I wouldnt mind going, but if it made you feel too uneasy then find any protestant church around you to pray at.

Praying is talking to God and Him to us.. it can (anbd should) be done anywhere and at any time! If you want to go to a peaceful place to pray such as a monestry then go for it!!
