Political conservatism happens here too, and there's a lot of overlap between political and theological conservatives. I happen to be both, as probably are most members here. But to address the theological side, I concur that abortion is sinful, and very seriously so. But how do we resolve it politically? Perhaps, as you suggest, that's best left to the other forum. And, frankly, I don't think homosexuality should have been included in the statement at all... but it was, probably because of its current domestic political importance. I can sign on to it because I think it probably is sinful theologically, and accordingly I'm against my church performing same sex marriages, but I don't think it's an especially heinous or important sin. I would regard malicious gossip as far worse.
