Hey everyone. So, I was struggling a lot last night and realized that I don't have any Bible verses that I can turn to in times like that. I guess I was just wondering if anyone has biblical references on cutting being wrong. I mean, I know it is, but I guess I just want something in the Bible that I can turn to in times of struggles. Please let me know if you have any.

In times of struggles, I find that psalm 121 is a wonderful verse to read and think about.
Ps 121:1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains: From whence shall my help come?
Ps 121:2 My help [cometh] from Jehovah, Who made heaven and earth.

Alot of the psalms have messages like this.

Ah! Great question. These have helped me through.
Some of them are taken out of context a little but I don't think it makes them unappliable.

1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted byond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."

AMEN! This one has litterly made me drop my weapon of choice right before doing anything and turn away and find another way to deal.

Philippians 1:16
"I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body."

1 Corinthians 6:19
"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body"

I read this one to say "you were bought with a price", ie you and your body are too valuable, treasured, too important.

Then there is Mark 5:25-29 Which I feel really applies...see if it is helpful for you.

25And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. 26She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. 27When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28because she thought, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed." 29Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.

Hope this is of some help to you. And please understand I struggle right along side you, although I think I'm getting better, I in no way mean these verses in judgement just encouragment!
