Question!

Okay,
I have enjoyed many of the final fantasy ps-2 games. However, XI you have to use the internet for. I am not interested in getting all of the attachments and the such (I am a poor school kid). Are there any games that are comparible to final fantasy? Ohh and it has to be clean I have little brothers that like to watch. I have played some other RPG games that did not impress me to much. I do like the battle systems and layouts of all of the final fantasy though.

Yeah I know what you mean. I don't care to much for online games, because A. I dont have the money, and B. I dont have the time to play them.

As for other RPG's, there are a lot of old ones that came out for PS1, like Chrono Cross, all the NES/SNES FF's. There are a couple other ones, but I forget there names. There are some that I like, that a lot of people dont, like Legend of Legia (PS1), and Xenosaga (PS2).

Morrowind is far superior IMO, plus there are now gold/GOTY editions for both games, that's just the original game plus the two expansions that they both have.

yah I do have a decent computer but it is the FAMILY computer. I think that I would rather stay with the good ol' basic ps-1 or ps-2 games.

I'm a crazy gamer, and Final Fantasy is my favorite series of all time--in my favorite game genre of all time (RPG's).

So I'm gonna offer you my biased opinion (i.e. fact): there are no games comparable to Final Fantasy. Also, doesn't it just make you cry that they are pushing into this Massively Multiplayer market??? NOOOOO....

But I do have to agree, there aren't any good RPG's made in recent years that have even been improvements to the genre. All the games listed are the best made in years, and I'm afraid to say it will probably stay that way because game companies are giving up on plot and depth for the lesser gameplay attributes like graphics and heavy metal bands.

If you like old school RPG's for PS1, I recommend these (although they're not near as good as FF):

Legend of Dragoon
Star Ocean
Xenogears

BTW, is Lord of the Rings: The Third Age also for PS2? I have it for XBox. It really isn't spectacular in any way, and sometimes aggravating to the Tolkien franchise, you can't help but like the way they mix Final Fantasy X gameplay with fighting the Balrog with Gandalf at your side....

I'd recommend Star Ocean as well. Also, consider the Breath of Fire games on the PS2 too.

Final Fantasy XI isnt the on PS2 FF, theres still X and X-2 (just in case you didnt know) but lets see, i would say Shadow Hearts but it is a very gory game, the Dot Hack series would be a good one, Kingdom Hearts, i saw that Star Ocean and Xenosaga were mentioned, ive heard those were good, and thats about it for me.

Thats a pure hack and slash action game, not a single RPG element in it....

Yah, but it is great fun! My sister and I love to play multiplayer on the return of the king. Hey, hack and slash is not all bad. However, it does raise your heart rate.

I have played final fantasy ten and ten two. But I have yet to acheive 100 percent. That is so frustrating! If you ask me I think that the worse thing they could have done in producing the game is to not tell you what tenth of a percentage point you are missing.

I also own star ocean but I did not finish it. There was altogether too much talking and not such a good battle system.

As of right now my bank account is depleted and so I have begun to play final fantasy 8 again.

Here's MY biased opinion (i.e. trump fact).I personally love MMORPGs and don't understand how ppl can play the FF games. Seriously, though, I know it's just a matter of taste and what you like.
