  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Have you ever dreamed of having a helper monkey who can write an opera?

That sounds nice, but monkeys seem too mischievous to me. People don't trust cats, but monkeys seem more likely to plot behind your back. :D

Peace be upon you :)

If you could spend one day with anyone from throughout history, who would it be and why?

If you had one day with unlimited money and could go anywhere, how would you spend it and why?

If you could choose one book or writing from throughout history to own, what would it be?

Do you have a favourite film or book character?

Do you have a book or film which you most relate to and why?

Which one of the seven wonders of the world would you have most liked to visit?

If you could visit one city, ancient or modern, which would it be and why?

If you could change one action throughout history in the world, what would it be and why?

Peace be upon you :)

If you could spend one day with anyone from throughout history, who would it be and why? Hmmm. I'll probably change my mind a million times, but my first thought is Eleanor Roosevelt (I'd pick Jesus, but that's too easy). I just think that she sounds like a very interesting person. I liked that she was pro-civil rights, pro-feminism, and pro-human rights.

If you had one day with unlimited money and could go anywhere, how would you spend it and why? I would go back to North Carolina and buy a house, fill up the house with furniture and personal items, and buy a car for the garage. Then I'd explore my new home city. Or, if I want to not be practical, I would fly to Europe and spend time in London, Prague, and Budapest (yes, I know I'd need more than one day for that, so I'm cheating :p).

If you could choose one book or writing from throughout history to own, what would it be? I'm not sure, actually. That's an interesting question.

Do you have a favourite film or book character?Anne Shirley (of Anne of Green Gables) was my favorite for a long time. I'm not sure now, though. It's early and no other characters are coming to mind, so maybe I'll answer this later.

Do you have a book or film which you most relate to and why? This one I'll have to come back to as well. There's no quick answer to this one for me.

Which one of the seven wonders of the world would you have most liked to visit? The Lighthouse of Alexandria. I'm not sure why other than it speaks to me. :D

If you could visit one city, ancient or modern, which would it be and why?London because it just seems like a fascinating city. As one of my former professors used to call it, "a global city."

If you could change one action throughout history in the world, what would it be and why?

I'd be afraid to change anything, frankly, since I heard someone once say that if Hitler had never come into power, someone else would have ended up doing the same thing. If that's true, I'll go on a smaller scale and closer to home. I'd have Lincoln never be assassinated and see if maybe things would have gone much better for the former slaves, improving race relations of today.

What is your favorite food?

Grilled salmon burgers from Red Robin or really most meals that involve salmon.

If you could live without eating that for the rest of your life, on the scale of 1 to 10 how sad would you be? Why?

8. Eating out is one of my favorite things to do for my birthday or just something special. We use food a lot as part of socializing in society and things wouldn't be the same without eating.

What is the most important thing in your life right now? Why?

I'll rep you. It feels too personal to answer publicly.

What is your favorite shape? Why?

Triangle. I'm not sure.

Who taught you math as a child? Did you like it, hate it? Why?

Public school teachers. I actually wasn't horrible at it in school (though it was my worst subject) when I had a decent teacher, but oftentimes math teachers seemed uninterested in teaching girls math. They gave more attention to boys and one teacher wouldn't even answer questions I had, so I stopped asking. I hate it in part because of memories like that, not getting a proper teaching of it-so I don't understand it as well as I could, and my brain prefers the social sciences.

What cheese do cheeseheads prefer?
I imagine that they, I am not a cheesehead :p, prefer cheddar.

What's your dream job?

Well, right now it's one that pays me. :D I'd love to have my own bookshop and have lectures and book club type stuff there too. I mentioned this in a dream job thread and Dove says I must do this. Unfortunately, I don't see how it's possible with places like Amazon and Barnes&Noble...and a distinct lack of monies.
