What is your favorite holiday?

Thanksgiving. I feel like all of our holidays have evolved into celebrating things that weren't originally planned to be celebrated. Christmas has become all about Santa and presents. Easter has evolved into a holiday of eggs and bunnies. Thanksgiving, however, even though it is becoming clouded by Black Friday sales, and there are still parades and football games, I feel like, with my family at least, that we keep Thanksgiving about Thanksgiving. We try with other holidays, but stuff gets in the way. Thanksgiving, on the other hand, is one of the few that I find my family celebrates as it is. (Sorry for my little rant about holidays.)

What's YOUR favorite holiday?

Christmas, I like the celebration of Christ's birth into the world. It is crass, at times, but there is no escaping what the day is- the commemoration of Salvation coming to Earth.

I like the wonder, the lights, Christmas trees, presents, Christmas movies, Christmas songs, the feeling of bonhomie people have for each other. And Santa Claus.
