  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

If I can't see the real you, it's too much. As long as it's not Tammie Faye Baker style, I'm fine with it! You may not know who she is... let me describe her in one sentence. She wears so much makeup that you could peel it off in one solid sheet and throw it onto a wall where it would resemble modern impressionistic art. Nobody knows what she really looks like to this day.

Whenever I have a photo session of a woman, I ask her to keep the makeup light. In my opinion, heavy or bright makeup takes away from who the person really is, while light makeup adds to their appearance. A few of my clients wear no makeup at all and they can be rather stunning.

So I noticed on one of the other threads that a lot of guys don't like it when girls wear "too much makeup". So now my curiosity is stirred. In your eyes, how much is too much?
Personally, I dont like any.

Now dont take me as one of those types who says ''the bible doesnt permit it'', its not that at all, I promise :)

I just really find the female face very beautiful without any makeup at all.

Ive always liked the Tomboy types, and when I think about it, it was for that very reason, they never seem to wear makeup.

Now, if my wife wants to wear it, Im not going to say a thing to dissuade her. I would hope if she did that it was only a little, tho. :)

Too much would be the Rodeo Clown look ;)

I think make-up is fine, but too much is when it's real thick and cakey. Also, the occasion can determine how much is appropriate. For example, now I'm not sure I'd want my S/O wearing bright red lipstick every single day, but her wearing it to a nice restaurant or special occasion is very nice.

I don't like alot of makeup either. A little is fine and I must admit to liking some of the dark red lipsticks that I see goth girls wearing. I don't like the peircings that I see going through said lipstick though. I don't like heavy eye liner or eyeshadow that is an unnatural color.

When it becomes obvious that the face does not look natural.

That pretty much sums it up for me.

If I come to your house to pick you up for a date and my first thought at looking at you is "Oh, she's wearing makeup", then it's too much. It doesn't even have to look bad to be too much, necessarily. Just keep it subtle. I'm very much looking forward to waking up next to my wife every morning for the rest of my life, and she won't be wearing any makeup then, so I don't think light makeup is really a problem ;)

Err on the side of too little rather than too much.
