FYI ? It?s in the Quran!

Angel Gabriel told Muhammad that the DNA structure of a pagan is different than a Muslim and that all pagans should be prohibited from visiting Mecca because of their malformed genetic structure. However, if a pagan reverts to Islam, his DNA will mutate to the ideal structure.

Kind Regards,
Farside

That is one of the most ridiculas things I've ever heard.

OK thank you.

Now is it true that this place used to house 360 idols worshipped by different tribes until Muhammed came along and chose Allah the moon god? Allah being a pre Islamic pagan deity. A temple to whome was excavated in the 1950's at Hazor in palestine.

Here is my muslim take on the whole moon god spiel;

Muslims believe that Adam and Eve were kicked out of paradise and were reunited on the plain of Arafat, near Mecca. There, they built the first Kabba, dedicated to the worship of Allah (swt). Later, their descendants forgot to worship God alone, and worshiped other deities, making Allah (swt) part of a pantheon.

Later, Abraham and Ishmael (as) came to Mecca and rebuilt the Kabba, rededicating the area to the worship of Allah (swt) as the one true God. Later his descendants forgot monotheism and put Allah (swt) in a pantheon.

Just because the Meccans worshiped Allah as a pagan doesn't make Allah (swt) as a pagan deity.

I'm assuming you've getting your info from Robert Morey, who's theories have been roundly and soundly defeated:

And specifically about Hazor:

Humor in Islam?

Yes!
Humour and joking are permitted in Islam. We learn this from several ahadith of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. Abu Huraira radi allahu anhu said that the Prophet peace be upon him was told, “O Prophet of Allah, you are joking with us.” He said, “I only say what is true.” (Tirmidhi) Another Hadith relates that the Prophet would nickname Zainab bint Salama by repeatedly calling her ‘O Zuweinab’.

No!
On the other hand, some of the scholars have prohibited joking:cry: and they are supported by some ahadith. It is related that the Prophet said, “Do not be vague with others and do not joke.” (Tirmidhi) Another Hadith states that the Prophet said, “Everything has a beginning and hostility begins with joking.” Ja’far ibn Muhammad said, “Beware of joking for it causes embarrassment.” Ibrahim Al Nakh’I said, “Joking shows foolishness and arrogance.” Imam ibn Abdul Bar said, “Some of the scholars denounced joking for what it causes of offences, spite and malice between people.”

Farside’s Commentary: The above quotations came from an excellent article on Humor in Islam at [english, islam, com]

Kind Regards,
Farside

Do all muslims live by this example - no joy, or is it an extremist view?

There is not humor when it comes to religious matters. For instance, you Christians feel it is ok to depict Jesus on television and movies in a silly matter. Or making little statues with him ridding bikes and things like that. The religion of Islam is not a joke. Therefore a muslim has to take the religion seriously. But, that doesn't mean that a Muslim cannot have humor in his life. The prophet Muhammad used to laugh and smile at jokes made by some of his companions as well. Here is are two haddiths for instance. One is about the prophet Muhammad having a fun race with one of his wives. The other is about an incident when a few women had come to talk to the prophet Muhammad in his house to ask him for financial support, when one of his companions knocked on the door and they all scattered. The prophet smiled at their behavior.

Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 54, Number 515: Narrated Sad bin Abi Waqqas: Once Umar asked the leave to see Allah's Apostle in whose company there were some Quraishi women who were talking to him and asking him for more financial support raising their voices. When 'Umar asked permission to enter the women got up (quickly) hurrying to screen themselves. When Allah's Apostle admitted 'Umar, Allah's Apostle was smiling, 'Umar asked, "O Allah's Apostle! May Allah keep you gay always." Allah's Apostle said, "I am astonished at these women who were with me. As soon as they heard your voice, they hastened to screen themselves." 'Umar said, "O Allah's Apostle! You have more right to be feared by them." Then he addressed (those women) saying, "O enemies of your own souls! Do you fear me and not Allah's Apostle ?" They replied. "Yes, for you are a fearful and fierce man as compared with Allah's Apostle." On that Allah's Apostle said (to 'Umar), "By Him in Whose Hands my life is, whenever Satan sees you taking a path, he follows a path other than yours."

Sunan Abu-Dawood Book 14, Number 2572: Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin: while she was on a journey along with the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him): I had a race with him (the Prophet) and I outstripped him on my feet. When I became fleshy, (again) I had a race with him (the Prophet) and he outstripped me. He said: This is for that outstripping.

The type of joking which is looked down upon in Islam is when you make a joke at someone else's expense, thereby bringing embarressment to that person. That is hurting someone else's feelings, and is considered trying to be arrogant. For instance if someone makes a joke about another person because that person is fat.

You might be right, but why dont you Christians do something about it. I know for a fact that if someone tried to depict the prophet Muhammad or Islam in a negative way through film or television or anything, that there would be a high amount of protest among Muslims.

Muslim, I think the problem is that many Muslims view America as a Christian nation, and think that all white anglo-saxons are Christians. That's not the case. They say 80% of America is Christian, but as an American I can tell you that this isn't true. Very few people here still believe in Christ.

To us Christians, religion is also not a joke. We would never make any humorous depictions of our Lord. As Walch said, it's the godless atheists who do this. As you know, atheism is a religion that centers on worship of the devil (uh oh, I'm going to get a lot of criticism for saying that!), so it's only natural for atheists to blaspheme our Lord.

If you take a look at precisely who is doing these sorts of terrible things, you'll see that it's almost never Christians, or even non-Christian theists. I hope you won't let the practices of the religion of atheism reflect poorly on Christians, because we are in no way affiliated with that false religion which denies the Creator.

Putting a bounty on someone's head just because you don't like what he writes is going just a little too far.

I do wish that we had blasphemy laws in America. Freedom of speech is great, but some people take it way too far when they start attacking God.
