Did you hate God and blame God for bad things when you were an atheist?

Ditto to this. As an added note: I was actually quite happy as an atheist/agnostic and didn't feel that my life was lacking anything. I know differently now, but trying to use that as a tool to reach me then would have been worthless. An atheist doesn't believe in God, so I think the answer to your question is quite obviously no.
I'll let each ex-atheist speak for himself/herself. Are you an ex-atheist?An atheist doesn't believe in God, so I think the answer to your question is quite obviously no.
If you don't mind my asking, what was it that caused you to switch from atheist/agnostic to Christian?Ditto to this. That's off-topic here. Start another thread if you wish.If you don't mind my asking, what was it that caused you to switch from atheist/agnostic to Christian?
No, but I do know that atheists don't believe in God, so I can't imagine why they would blame Someone they don't believe in for anything. That's my 2 cents!I'll let each ex-atheist speak for himself/herself. Are you an ex-atheist?
Thanks for your 2 cents, but this thread and the OP question is addressed to ex-atheists.No, but I do know that atheists don't believe in God, so I can't imagine why they would blame Someone they don't believe in for anything. That's my 2 cents!
In the interest of keeping this thread on-topic, you can read a condensed version of my story on my profile page.If you don't mind my asking, what was it that caused you to switch from atheist/agnostic to Christian?
Can I cite this the next time a Christian accuses an atheist of hating God? That accusation happens a lot around here, and I'd love to have a Christian come to the defense of an atheist when it comes up again. An atheist doesn't believe in God, so I think the answer to your question is quite obviously no.

How can they hate God if they don't believe in Him? How can they blame Him for anything if they don't believe in Him?The topic has to do with atheists hating God. Therefore, it's on-topic. So, I'll cite your remarks the next time a Christian accuses atheists of hating God.
Thanks again.![]()
I agree. How can they hate God if they don't believe in Him? How can they blame him for anything if they don't believe in Him?
If you feel that way, you have definitely got the wrong idea of God. He is wonderful and cares for us. He has blessed me so much more than I deserve.Well, no, because I couldn't "hate" something I didn't believe in - but I did think that if he was real (going by popular traditional Christine doctrine), then he must be a colossal prick and I would never join him even if he was real. The entire concept of such a God was not only illogical but also extremely immoral judging by any human standards. This was at 16-17 age.
But then I realized that maybe that version might be wrong, and that we don't know it all.
So, without trying to sound rude, why did you ask the OP? If you agree that you can't blame Someone you don't believe in, why did you ask? I'm really just wondering, not trying to be rude at all.I agree.

I actually have stated this in other threads when that allegation has been tossed out there. I also find the idea that atheists don't have morals to be not only ridiculous from a secular standpoint, but also biblically incorrect (his laws are written on our hearts, etc.).Can I cite this the next time a Christian accuses an atheist of hating God?
