  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's got nothing to do with arrogance. It's got everything to do with simply opening your eyes and see that humans can wipe out many species off the face of the earth, humans can destroy all of civilization many times over with nuclear weapson, humans can put almost every other animal in a zoo and watch them for entertainment.

Please someone, tell me any other animal that can do things even close to what humans can do.
Ever watch or read a little something called "War of the Worlds"? In it, alien invaders come to Earth, level our cities, smite humans by the boatload, herd us like cattle, etc...

...and then the aliens catch a cold and die. There's a lesson there.

So evolutionists don't believe humans are by far the most evolved species on the earth?
You are using the term "evolved" in its common meaning, not its biological meaning. A specie would be "most evolved" (biologically) by being the most adapted for survival in its environment or changes to its environment. You seem to be asking whether humans are "better" than other species of animals, and that's not a biological question, nor a question for science.

I guess I first had a question asking if evolutionists believe if humans are more evolved.

But now I guess I getting into a bit of a friendly debate. Can't evolutionists see how vastly more evolved humans with all of the examples I have given?
No, because your examples are not synonymous with survival (which is really what evolution comes down to). How does blowing everything up help us survive, for example?

a- What examples?

b-Strikes me as arrogance to claim that we're 'more evolved'....we're more suited to our niche as are our cousins.

INstead of being sarcastic, can you answer my question?
I have answered it. It's just that the answer is not a simple yes/no type answer.

Basically, it depends. We're better in some ways, not better in others.

For example, there are quite a number of organisms adapted to survive around hydrothermal vents at the bottom of the ocean. Are we adapted for that? No. So does that mean those organisms are better? Well, yes, if you're talking about surviving around hydrothermal vents at the bottom of the ocean.

Okay okay. It's tough for me to get some answers here.

Could I just get a yes or no answer? Do you believe that humans are the most evolved species on the earth? I just want to know what each of you believe. Thanks to the one guy for his answer.

Okay, let me use one example. We humans can put almost every animal in a zoo and watch them in entertainment. Does this not show that we dominate all living creatures?

It shows we have the ability to put animals in zoos, I fail so see how this equates to most evolved.

If you want it that simple then no, i'd say the cockroach was better.

What does that have to do with survival? You can cage a lion but it could easily eat/maul the keeper.....

I cannot answer your question as a simple yes or no, because you first must define what you mean by "most evolved".

And yet we can't cure the common cold. So does that mean viruses are the dominant forms of life?

that is very interesting. yes i think we are the most evolved. unfortunatly we have done the most damage to ourselfs and oneday may kill ourselfs as a species. as this one guy quoted ( i forgot who) "There is no evidence to show intelligence has any long term survival"

Thank you for conceding my point that humans are the most evolved. But isn't it a contradiction to say that we are the most evolved, yet to believe that "we may oneday kill ourselves as a species?" Just a question.
