  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.

At what point can you reasonably conclude that Jesus will not/cannot be found?

We teamed up with Faith Counseling. Can they help you today?

i was suicidally depressed and longed to die for seven long years without hearing from Jesus. i had concluded that Jesus wouldn't come to my aid and had my suicide all planned when He did come to my aid, unannounced and unexpected, and got me out of my pit, teaching me to be stronger than depression could fire my way.

So i would say never give up on Jesus not even when all seems lost and hopeless as it once did for me.

Faith in God's love - Jesus Christ - always pays off.

    Hallelujah:clap:

NEVER!! I even told God--outloud--to go away and to leave me alone. I was willing to go to hell, just leave me alone. He must have been on vacation that day, for He did not leave me alone and He did come after me. I will spend eternity thanking Him. He does hear the heart calling Him. I wasn't even aware I wanted Him in my life.

That's an interesting testimony and strikes me as a bit strange, for I know plenty of Christians who understand that God absolutely respects human will and will not impose on anyone.

I'm glad things worked out for you. Depression can be a very difficult condition to overcome and I'm happy for you that you have found a solution. For me, however, Christianity has not been comforting. I had experienced what I thought were close moments with Jesus but those were replaced by doubt and fear.

Can you clarify what you mean? Do you mean that we can never know for sure?

He did not impose---He merely understood my rage against Him, and waited for me to calm down. He only asked to be let in, I kept saying no---one day I heard "I will not ask again." That terrified me. That was when I reaslized, I must want Him, why else was I afraid He really would leave me?

How do you know it was Jesus talking and not your inner voice having a dialogue with yourself?
And why would Jesus not ask again if he understood your rage against him? I would expect a loving being to continue to draw you in.

There comes a time when we say no sooo many times that we grieve away the Holy Spirit. That is called the unforgiveable sin, for it is the Holy Spirit that calls us. There is a time when even God says, enough, when He has done all He can do and we must make adult decisions. He takes everything into consideration, but we will have to make our own decisions. Now, you being atheist I do not expect you to understand, and if it is genuine questions you have, that is fine. There comes time when I draw the line with you guys for nothing ever gets through to you as you have no desire to actually understand. That is when I say enough and walk away. God does the same thing, the difference is He knows the heart, I just have to make educated guesses, plus I do not know the future nor do I have His patience.

Well, please give us some breaks, as Christians are very confusing. For instance, there are Calvinists who understand, based on the Bible, that God doesn’t really want everyone to be saved and, therefore, will not be calling everyone to salvation, but only the few of the elect. So, how does the reprobate know to stop seeking salvation?

When you learn to look at evidence sensibly and evaluate the Christian claims with reason and logic.

I am not Calvinist, can not answer for them, I do not believe that teaching is biblical, but they do. So you will have to ask them.

Let me ask you this then, if I may, why would God ever give up? Allegedly, he loves people more than their parents (even the best parents). Would loving parents ever give up on their children?

God does, for there are people who refuse Him. The Holy Spirit is who calls us. When we ignore and ignore Him, we can no longer hear His pleadings. That is grieving away the Holy Spirit. When you can not hear Him anymore there is no way to ask God into ypour heart, for it is through Him we come to God. Lucifer and his angels can not come to God ever again, they are doomed to the lake of fire--they have no way back. That is a time that God alone knows. He waited 30 years for me, some He waits longer, they can still hear and will ask God to come to them. If you can truly ask Him in, He will come --but you can't even ask if you chased away the Spirit. I came close, my father was 81---he never asked God in. He knew what he was doing. He knew the bible inside out---but he never gave Him his heart.
My husband came very close-----a severe alcoholic, took God 64 years of calling, I was with him, for 28 years. The last 2 months of his life were in the hospital---7 times during that time, he was at death's door, including one full blown heart failure and they did CPR and brought him back, he spent one week on a vent. God stepped in and would not let him die, it was a battle, he came home sober, without any pain meds and the scan showed his brain was normal, had not been affected. So when I asked him one last time if he would give his heart to God, he said he didn't know how and I walked him through the sinner's prayer. I know he was just reciting words and could have been just lip service---but all of a sudden he just took off praying on his own and that I knew was straight from the heart. Several hours later, he died in my arms. I am comforted with the knowledge that Satan had him for 64 years, but God and I have him for eternity.

If you have an encounter with Him you will no longer be able to question it...

In fact your mind will take time to process what has happened in your heart.

Belief in Him is a response to His Word working in your heart.

    Belief is pivotal to salvation.
