  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi - we have a Bichon and a Chihuahua - both nutered males. Has anyone tried to train their dog to a litter type box? Know this is a strange question, but my husband wants to try it and I just don't know if it will work. Please PM me or respond here. Thanks and God bless you all - Hedi

It's very possible. But how old are your dogs? Usually it's best when they're younger but older dogs can learn too.

I haven't tried litter box. But if you want them to be trained to a certain spot you just have to encourage them when they do and discourage them when they don't. When I was training my dog I took him outside every morning to one spot and waited until he went. :)

Hope that helps. ;)

Hi Randi - thanks so much for that advise. We are remodeling an older home and are going to move there soon. We have a large deck off the second floor and are hoping to train the dogs to go out there instead of outside. Our dogs are 6 and 7 but are basically pretty intelligent so think your idea will work.
God bless - Hedi

Yes, it's similar to training to go outside, you just redirect them to the new spot you want them to go. If you can give them a litter box, so it feels different than your floors or carpets, that would be best. Make sure you treat and praise when they go in the area you are training them to, and good luck!
