I have now!

The process of Theosis in this life is hardly compatible with the Protestant idea of once saved always saved; only when we stand before Him at the last will we know our fate. But He is a merciful and a loving God who will judge according to His mercy and not our deserts - just as well in my case, as it gives me hope I would otherwise not have.

In peace,

Anglian

There is no question that God by His only begotten Son Jesus Christ holds up their end of the deal! So it is not about losing it from heavens end. Once a person has been baptized into Christ he (or she) has (or should have) only one goal on this earth, to live a life that is pleasing to God. If you never talk to your Father in heaven and continue to live a wordly life in sin never repenting or confessing and maybe go to church once a week or month or whenever; The question would eventually be were you ever saved to begin with? All who have Christ in their life and pursue a relationship with Him know WE DO HAVE SOME ACCOUNTABILITY HERE. it is not just a free pass or get out of jail free card. Yes He paid the price for your salvation BUT in return we owe Him to be Holy as He is Holy. We have limitiations to that Holiness because of our temporary dwellings but we must make the effort to grow closer to Him day after day

Lbet,
I agree with you. Jesus gave us eternal life and nothing shall seperate us from the love of God. No if a person were so foolish as to renounce their salvation in Christ I believe God would honor that, but I have not run into many who have ... I think I may have meet a couple in my years.

So I think its almost everyone who get saved is always saved.

Blessings all,

As an EX-protestant, from my experience I have found the confusion of those who hold to the "once saved, always saved" belief is they assume they have already been born again in the Holy Spirit by simply committing their life to Christ through a basic prayer and in some cases, repentance and a baptism of water.

Yet they reject the laying on of hands and the annointing of the Holy Myron. As such, they are never truly "born again" in the Holy Spirit and aren't saved in the first place.

This also explains the multitude of differing teachings and variations in their faith because they often assume that whatever is guiding them to interpret the scriptures, whether it be a deceiving spirit or their carnal minds must be the inspiration of the Holy Spirit as they are convinced the Spirit of God is indwelling within them and directing their belief structure.

Peace and love to all
