Question about text in bible

Hi

I have again a question, what do Christians or the bible teach about the next verse.

Revelation 20:10 >> And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

What do the Christians teach about this verse, who is the beast and who is the false prophet? And where is this verse talking about?

Can anyone tell me that maybe?

The text refers to the end of the end times. The Beast is another word for The AntiChrist, and the false prophet is just that, the false prophet that will support the AntiChrist and serve as his prophet to lead people a stray. Who the beast is, is still unknown, though people have tried to ID him, I'm not taking part in such activities, but if you see someone enforce a peace treaty in the Middle-East, that's him. The Beast some say will come from the EU, some say it will be The Pope(doubt it), some have claimed it's Obama, and others say he will be a Muslim(El Hassan Bin-Talal has been famously named the AC by Joe VanKoevering), who knows(though I'm sorry, but the ones that deny the deity of Christ, and the fact that He is the Son of God have the spirit of the AC). Either way, he's going to be a bringer of a false peace and situate himself in the rebuilt temple(probably rebuilt after the coming wars prophecised in Psalm86/Isaiah17 and Ezekiel38). His prophet is often thought to be the Pope. Both because the AC is often thought to come from Rome, and the fact that the Pope has the position to lead millions to follow the AC. But this position is also still speculative. But I wouldn't be surprised if he is. As for this specific verse speaks about the end of the Tribulation period, when all people are judged.

Jaa nederlandse naam, goed opgemerkt. Aan je nederlandse vlag te zien ben ik hier blijkbaar niet de enige hollander.

Even in het nederlands dan een reactie dat is wat makkelijker dan in het engels.

Weetje wat ik eerlijk gezegd eventjes dacht, de Christenen geloven niet in de Profeet Mohamed(vrede zij met hem) dus ik dacht eventjes dat het vers misschien uit de context werd gehaald zegmaar en voor Mohamed (vrede zij met hem) gebruikt zou worden (ofzo) als je snapt wat ik bedoel.. maar dat is dus helemaal niet wat er mee gedaan wordt. Dus eigenlijk wie die valse Profeet is, is niet helemaal duidelijk, maar die zal opduiden in het einde der tijden is dat dan een "Profeet" die al eerder op de aarde geleefd heeft of is dat niet duidelijk? Ik had eventjes op de volgende site gekeken Revelation 20:10 Greek Texts and Analysis naar dat vers en specifiek naar het woord "FALSE prophet" en als ik dan erop klik dan krijg ik de volgende vertalingen: false prophet (4), false prophets (7). Dus het zou ook kunnen dat ermee valse PROFETEN bedoeld wordt, toch?

The false prophet, betekent in ieder geval zo is de Nederlandse Bijbel vertaling, en ook alle Engelse vertalingen een enkelvoud. Het meervoud zou anders spreken van The false prophets. Ik ken in dit geval de griekse geschriften niet, dus moet ik af gaan op de gangbare vertalingen. Ik heb deze nog nooit in het meervoud gezien. Overigens zijn er door de geschiedenis, en ook heden ten dage een goed aantal valse leraren en valse profeten geweest. Het zal een profeet zijn die zich zal oprichten tijdens de Eindtijd/grote verdrukking, veel mensen geloven dan ook dat deze valse Profeet nu rond loopt op aarde(veel Christenen waaronder ikzelf geloven dat we nu zeer nabij de 7jarige verdrukking leven), en de Paus is een veel gehoord persoon voor deze rol. Dit vers wordt dus niet voor Mohammed gebruikt, natuurlijk voor onze leer is het wel een valse profeet(niet vervelend bedoelt), maar in de eindtijd leer speelt Mohammed geen rol. Er is wel speculatie over het wel of niet betrokken zijn van de Islam in de eindtijd(overigens zijn ze dat sowiezo wel omtrent de twee nog geprofeteerde oorlogen van Israel waarvan je zou kunnen lezen in Jesaja17/Psalmen86 en Ezechiel 37/38) met name door de toenadering tussen bepaalde Islamitisch leiders, en de katholieke kerk, maar specifiek over de 7jarige verdrukking wordt niet specifiek gesproken over een Moslim leider of iets dergelijks. Sterker nog, wij geloven dat in de eindtijd er een enkele wereld religie zal komen, een mix tussen alle geloven op aarde. Iets waar overigens ook aan gewerkt wordt, mede onder leiding van het vaticaan, de VN, en eigenlijk ook alle leiders uit alle andere geloven van de wereld, en ook Moslim prominenten zoals El Hassan Bin-Talal de Jordaanse prins met naar verluid een directe afstamming van Mohammed. Er zijn wel mensen die speculeren over of de Antichrist een Moslim zou kunnen zijn(mede ook ingegeven door de Shiitische eschatology). Iets waar ik geen waarde oordeel over zal vellen.
