Is there site that offers lesson plans or something to help give me structure in studying the bible. I don't do well studying if I just go at it with out some sort of structure or plan. I hope that makes sense.
This site has some Bible studies.

Best wishes,

Personally I like to work my way through the four gospels by reading one passage in the morning, afternoon and before bed, so I'm never far from Lord Jesus' Words. In the morning I also read a chapter each from Proverbs and Psalms, as well as working my way through the rest of the Bible one passage a day, to study the rest.

Godspeed, however you decide to do it.

There are also apps that will read the Bible aloud, like an audio book. I find it is a very effective way to get through the material. I esp like the Message Bible, as it puts things in modern language.

No lesson plans (i do not believe) but this site has excellent articles pertaining to the New Testament and some on the Old Testament.

Maybe try an audio bible, that way you are exposed to the content in general. If something piques your interest while listening, you can delve deeper on sites such as www.blueletterbible.org.

Be careful with bible study plans, some will steer you away from the truth with their interpretations that sometimes can be false.

know that all points to Christ in the old and new testament. He is the only way to eternal life.

Start with the 4 gospels then the first 5 books of the O.T. , the rest you can choose once you have read these. For the rest, you will know then what to read. Let the Holy Spirit guide you above all else. There is only one truth, be careful of false interpretations, use discernment always.

So true, why its so important to understand the pillars of foundation of Truth in God's Word and never deviate

Psa 119:151 You are near, O Lord,
And all Your commandments are truth.

Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:

Fear God and keep His commandments,
For this is man’s all.

14 For God will bring every work into judgment,
Including every secret thing,
Whether good or evil.

Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there[a] is no light in them.

If you are thinking long term and want to consider youtube, you might look at the late David Pawson, who has 38 videos on the New Testament going book by book. He is Pentecostal but very practical and mainstream in many ways. Easy to understand too even with the U.K. accent. Unlocking the New Testament

I am reading through the Bible, word for word. And often enough it seems the Bible speaks for itself. And by reading the whole Bible, I can have it all for background when I study a certain part. Also, there are times when I read something and I might want to know what it means. Then is when i can look it up and see what a dictionary says about it, or even commentaries.

And you can join a study group, perhaps, maybe after talking with a mature pastor who can arrange for you to get with a good group. But even then evaluate, and pray for God to guide you.

You might try various book, word, or topic studies. Youtube videos can be a help, but many are less than helpful. Take what nuggets you can find and ignore the rest. Also you might want try sermonaudio.com

The first four gospels tell you what Jesus said, what he did, where he went. Most Christians see things in the gospels as for Christians today. However, an alternative view is that what Jesus said was for Israel in offering them their promised kingdom. The letters of Paul can be seen as more directed toward gentile believers.

The perspective we have can influence how we see things in the bible. I found that using a highlighter was helpful. However, successive readings can turn up a verse of significant interest that lies between two other verses that had been previously overlooked. This represents the successive approximation of knowledge increase

I would like to offer encouragement on a journey that can be of great discovery and contribute to significant growth and maturity.

It would be more honest to also say that this website is from the Seventh Adventist Church, i.e. quite biased and different from other Christians in many ways. Instead of trying to catch a newcomer for your camp.
Doesn't every Bible site come with baggage? If it is a Catholic site, it will present theology from a Catholic perspective. If a Reformed site, then Reformed theology etc. If you can point me to a site that doesn't come with a particular interpretation, please let me know.

I wasn't trying to "catch a newcomer." They asked for sites, and I gave the one I knew of.

Remember there is a spiritual war going on. Which group are we going to be in?

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus [a]Christ.

Also see Rev 14:11-12 Rev 22:14-15

There is very little SDA's have in common with the JW and with the Morman's, JW do not believe Jesus is God, we sure do. Nor do they promote to keep God's Ten Commandments the way God wrote and spoke them, either do the Morman's or even most of the churches so we have less in common with those two groups than most Sunday-keeping churches do.

But there is a warning in scripture that those who do keep God's commandments, people would make war with, so I guess we can choose which side of the war we are on. With God and obey Him the way He wrote and He spoke Exo 31:18 Exo 32:16 Exo 20 because He has all Authority and promised not to change His Word Psa 89:34 Mat 5:18-19 and no one has the authority to change anything that God blessed, sanctified, made holy and wrote with His own finger. Num 23:20 Or we can follow the popular traditions of man who changed God's times and laws we were warned about Dan 7:25. Jesus told us which path to take Mat 15:3-14 and whoever we obey, is who we serve Rom 6:16, so lets pray we take the narrow path and serve the One true God Isa 56:1-6 The only God who has the power to Create the heaven and earth Exo 20:11 and the only God who has the power to sanctify us Eze 20:12

Its also best to leave the judging with God. Many of the people in the bible who were God's chosen people and claimed to serve God crucified God's only Son, the majority got it so wrong back then, whose to say that is still not happening. Jesus taught that most would get it wrong. Mat 7:13-14 which is why the only thing we can believe is God's Word and He told us to live by every Word that proceeds out of His mouth Mat 4:4

"Its similar to recommending Mormons' or Jehovah Witnesses' website as the first website for new Christians" -- This is unfair and not true.

EDIT: I'm removing most of my former post. It was written when my emotions were running higher. This thread is not the place to discuss theological differences between denominations, and my post spoke against the beliefs of others in a way that was not helpful. I apologize.
