• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

1.4 No Active Proselytism for Non Christian Religions.

Members may not promote a religion, belief, faith or doctrine other than Christianity. Posts providing information about other religions or faiths are allowed. Discussion, debate and disagreement about Christian doctrine are also permissible. The following are considered proselytism:

1.4.1 Testimonials of apostates from Christianity or converts to another faith.
1.4.2 Direct invitations, requests or statements to convert to a faith or non faith other than Christianity.
1.4.3 Deliberately ridiculing Christianity.
So, does that mean non-Christians are not allowed to present their reasons for believing as they do? At what point are they "promoting" another belief system?

hi, welcome to CF. i'm dee. you'll probly need to adjust some to our rules. lol. it depends on the forum you are in. this forum is a guided discussion. the direction is this: you may discuss your beliefs and may debate on areas of beliefs. but because we are a christian board; we no not allow other religions to be taught. it's basically drawing a line on how far topics can go. this applies to christian members too. we also may not cross the line and preach or chase you about with our beliefs. and ofcourse, no one may ridicule, harrass, flame, or attack eachother.
thank you for asking about the rules. i appreciate this respect. :) ~ xo dee

The enforcement of that rule is arbitrary, to some extent. Mostly nobody minds if I say things about what I believe, but once there was a thread here in Non-Christian "What does your religion have to offer?" There was a description of things about Christianity, beautiful archtecture of churches, hyms, and several other things. But when I actually tried to answer the question my posts, which included pictures of our places of worship and a link to a site where our Scriptures could be read, were deleted. And I was given a warning that if I did it again I would be banned.
